TOP 100 CANADIAN GOLF COURSE COUNTDOWN: 70-61

The wait is finally over. SCOREGolf’s Top 100 Canadian Golf Courses is the most authoritative ranking in Canada and has been igniting debates every two years since 1988.

In celebration of SCOREGolf’s Top 100 Golf Courses Ranking, we recently hosted Canada’s Top 100 Golf Giveaway, where we gave away a prize pack which included a foursome to Algonquin, four $50 Golf Town gift cards and four dozen Wilson Duo Soft+ golf balls! With thousands of entries from coast-to-coast, we want to thank everyone that entered.

Now without any further adieu, here is the 2020 Top Canadian Golf Courses, #70-61.

70-61 of SCOREGolf‘s Top 100 Canadian  Courses

70. Rosedale Golf Club

A Donald Ross course in the heart of Toronto, Rosedale, makes good use of dales, ridges and meandering creeks. The variety of its par 3s is particularly noteworthy.

69. The Algonquin Golf Course

The Algonquin boasts one of the richest histories in Canadian golf and most recently was overhauled by Rod Whitman and Keith Cutten. New and revised back-nine holes provide a breathtaking ocean stretch that helps it return to the Top 100.

68. Le Maitre

Played along the Devil’s River, Mont Tremblant’s Le Maitre features wide fairways, large greens and several wetland areas that must be navigated. This is a Fred Couples, Graham Cooke and Darrell Huxham collaboration.

67. Deer Ridge Golf Course

Thomas McBroom’s Deer Ridge leaves a lasting impression, with its three-hole closing stretch one of the strongest in Canada. The par-3 16th is particularly stunning and helps the course to a top-70 spot.

Kitchener, ON

66. Wolf Creek Golf Course – Links

The Links Course — comprised of older and newer nines by Rod Whitman — is now the preferred track at Wolf Creek. Its wide fairways offer plenty of attack options to ideally located green complexes.

Les Furber’s Predator Course at Predator Ridge is an exciting ride that’s heavy on elevation changes, windswept fescue areas, pot bunkers and multi-tiered greens.

Vernon, BC

64. Maple Downs Golf and Country Club

Rollicking property and greens featuring a tremendous amount of movement — especially those built in recent years by Ian Andrew — have Maple Downs, an original William F. Mitchell design, well regarded.

Maple, ON

63. TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley – Heathlands

The first course at TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley and Doug Carrick’s maiden attempt at a links-style layout, the popular Heathlands course is better for having recently returned to its original routing.

Caledon, ON

62. The Ridge at Manitou Golf Club

The easy-on-the-eyes Ridge at Manitou continues to show well on this list despite its remote location an hour north of Ontario’s Muskoka region. The Thomas McBroom track finishes with a gorgeous par 5 towards Manitouwabing Lake.

McKellar, ON

61. Northern Bear Golf Club

Northern Bear near Edmonton makes a move up to 61 on this year’s Top 100. A Jack Nicklaus Signature course, it features fairways blending seamlessly with tall trees and five lakes to keep golfers on their toes.
