The wait is finally over! SCOREGolf’s Top 100 Canadian Golf Courses is the most authoritative ranking in Canada and has been igniting debates every two years since 1988.
In celebration of SCOREGolf’s Top 100 Golf Courses Ranking, we recently hosted Canada’s Top 100 Golf Giveaway, where we gave away a prize pack which included a foursome to Fairmont Le Manoir, four $50 Golf Town gift cards and four dozen Wilson Duo Soft+ golf balls! With thousands of entries from coast-to-coast, we want to thank everyone that entered.

100. Beaconsfield
Suffering a sharp drop, but remaining a Top 100 course, Stanley Thompson’s Beaconsfield in Point Claire, Quebec demands accuracy if not brute power, and possesses some of the best par 3s in the land.

99. Kawartha
The long-underrated Kawartha, once private but now open to public play, is another Stanley Thompson gem full of character and charm. It concludes with wonderful mid-length par 3 over water.

98. Wildstone
High above the city of Cranbrook, Wildstone has the good fortune of being the only Gary Player Design course in Canada. Its rolling highlands are marked by tall pine trees, golden fescue and white-sand bunkers.

97. Bear Mountain – Mountain
The Mountain Course at Bear Mountain is one of Canada’s most scenic and thrilling rides. The clifftop par-3 14th overlooking Victoria Harbour is the highlight of this Jack and Steve Nicklaus creation.

96. Seguin Valley
The Top 100 bubble course in 2018, Seguin Valley moves up to 96 this time around. Holes through dense forest navigating rocky outcroppings are highlighted by the water-spanning par-3 seventh.

95. Burlington Golf & Country Club
Reappearing on the Top 100 at number 95, Stanley Thompson’s Burlington Golf and Country Club has undergone a number of improvements in recent years, with tree removal a major component of the work. A deserved return.

94. Priddis Greens – Hawk
Gorgeous property in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains provides members of Priddis Greens an isolated and memorable spin around the club’s Hawk Course. It was designed by Bill Newis.

93. Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu – St. Laurent, Richelieu
The Top 100 course at Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu is a combination of old and new, with nine Herbert Strong holes from the 1920s and nine by Michael Hurdzan in the 2000s. High above the St. Lawrence River, the showstopper at this course is the opener, which plummets towards the water.

With its finger-style bunkering, subtle-sloping greens and distinctive one-shot holes, Cataraqui, in south Kingston near Lake Ontario, is easily recognized as a Stanley Thompson creation.

Using parts of the Canadian Shield for aesthetic beauty, Wildfire, designed by Thomas McBroom, offers mostly secluded playing corridors with enough spaciousness to provide variety.

As a long-time member of Kawartha I am thrilled to see that we made Canada’s top 100 again. Our loyal membership include several golfers, both male and female who compete across Canada,; in fact, two men, Roger Self and Ken Skoretz, were scheduled to play in the US Senior qualifying this summer after winning at the Canadian level last year.
I am disappointed that I have to wait to see the rest of the top 100 since I am a somewhat impatient person. Nevertheless, I am anxiously awaiting the rest of the list.

#93 – Fairmont Manoir Richelieu – the architect for the new 9 and responsible for extensive renovation on the entire course in the 2000’s is Darrell Huxham, a former associate of Graham Cooke, and not Michael Hurdzan as you incorrectly note in your article.
Having played Wildstone numerous times the course conditions and design hardly rate a top 100 when courses like Red Deer Golf and CC are not in that prestigious rating. Without Gary Players name on it, it is not even close
