Two Canadians—Calgary’s Jaclyn Lee and Quebec City’s Anne-Catherine Tanguay—made it through the LPGA Tour’s qualifying school over the weekend. They’ll join Golf Town athlete Brooke Henderson, veteran Alena Sharp, and rookie Brittany Marchand on the tour. Maude-Aimee Leblanc, a big hitter who has played on the LPGA Tour in the past, unfortunately did not get through qualifying school.
Lee, 21, is a senior at Ohio State who majors in finance, and was one of 11 amateurs in the field. She was a second-team All-American, and won three times as a junior, and once this year. She had four previous starts on the LPGA Tour, and is a member of the Canadian National Amateur Team.
Tanquay, 27, played on the Symetra Tour in 2017, and the LPGA Tour this year, but failed to retain her playing privileges. She made seven cuts in 17 events this year on the LPGA Tour, and played in two Symetra Tour events. She first cracked the LPGA Tour in 2016.
More Canadian failure’s! Just good enough to maybe make the cut and that’s all.
