New year, new gear for Golf Town Athlete Brooke Henderson.
Brooke has excitedly joined Team TaylorMade and will be using the TaylorMade TP5x golf ball and wear the Tour Preferred Glove.
With the switch, this marks the first time in both Brooke’s amateur and professional career she’s played a new ball brand in competition. With sister Brittany Henderson on the bag for the seventh season, Brooke is planning to play the No.7 on the TP5x.
Brooke told us she’s found more distance off the tee and better feel around the greens with her new ball and is excited to put it in play at the LPGA Tour’s season opener, the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions!
“I’m super excited to join Team TaylorMade for balls and gloves. It’s such an amazing opportunity and when I tried out the ball, I loved it right from the start,” said Brooke. “I was able to gain some distance off the tee, which, as you know me, I’m always looking for a little extra yardage off the tee and that gave it to me. That was a huge check.
“And then around the greens and spinning the ball… great feel. It’s been a really exciting move for me and I’m really looking forward to teeing it up in 2022.”
It was already a successful start to Brooke’s changeover to the new ball – she notched her ninth hole-in-one with it at Morgan Pressel’s charity event at the beginning of January (a knock-down 7 iron from 142 yards).
David Abeles, the CEO of TaylorMade Golf, said the company is thrilled to have an athlete like Brooke Henderson join its impressive stable of athletes for 2022 and beyond.
“Brooke is undoubtedly an incredible representative of the game of golf, already with several historical accomplishments at her young age that have inspired fans of golf across the world,” said Abeles. “Her decision to come to TaylorMade and play our TP5x golf ball reinforces our commitment to putting the highest performing golf ball in the hands of the best players across men’s and women’s tours.”
Brooke hasn’t made many equipment changes since she was a youngster but right away with the TP5x she said it was better, and she can’t wait to notch more victories with it this season.
“It was a no-brainer,” said Brooke. “It was a great move for me.”
Brooke will also wear TaylorMade’s premium glove, the Tour Preferred. It’s the glove of choice for TaylorMade Tour players focused on comfort, fit, and feel thanks to its premium materials.
Great to see Brooke getting your support as she and her sister are great ambassadors for Canada. I personally always try to watch the LPGA tour in hopes of seeing her play. Well done.
