TaylorMade’s offers versatility in third version of Hi-Toe wedge wedge

At first glance, the new TaylorMade Hi-Toe 3 wedges look similar to previous generations. But, as the saying asks, why mess with a good thing?

“We kept a lot of the same traits in the new Hi-Toe 3 wedges that were found in previous versions,” said TaylorMade Golf’s Product Creation, Wedges and Putters, Bill Price. “However, the evolutionary changes we did make have dramatically improved the overall playability for anyone who picks up the new Hi Toe 3.”

Price, who has been designing wedges and putters for TaylorMade Golf and worked in the golf industry for more than a quarter century, calls the new Hi-Toe 3 wedges the “Swiss Army Tool of wedges,” thanks to its design traits allowing golfers—from PGA TOUR pros to weekend warriors—to opportunity to play various types of shots with a single club.

Since the first version of the TaylorMade Hi-Toe, TaylorMade athletes were integral in the design process providing invaluable insights.

“Our athletes all offered great input individually, but collectively everyone wanted something versatile,” Price says. “They wanted a single wedge that could perform around the green from deep rough, thick fescue, bunkers with different sands, in wet conditions and from tight lies,” he says, adding, “that’s a lot to fit into a single design but with Hi-Toe 3 we’ve done it.”

What’s New

The new Hi-Toe 3 wedge design offers a higher centre of gravity which is engineered for a lower launch and more spin. Full length scoring lines on wedges of 54-degrees and higher, while raised micro have been added to give more texture to the face.

Tried and True

A four-way cambered sole remains a staple of the Hi-Toe wedge design, as does the aged copper finish with RAW face.

Hi-Toe 3 comes stock with the KBS Hi-Rev 2.0 shaft (115g) and Lamkin Crossline 360 Round 52g grips (Gray/Blue/Black End Cap). Hi-Toe 3 is available in standard bounce (50°, 52°, 54°, 56°, 58° and 60°), low bounce (58° and 60°), and high bounce (58° and 60°).

  1. I keep seeing these wedges all over the place and they just look so hittable. Not sure if it is the color or the high toe groove, but I see one in my near future
