To help take the stress out of holiday shopping, we’ve turned to our team to share their top gift ideas that any golfer will love.

Written by Tyler Schulzke, Department Sales Manager, North Calgary Golf Town

So by now, panic may be sinking in as time is running out for your Christmas shopping. But I’m here to help! Here are some easy last minute gift ideas for anyone on your list.

Callaway Chrome Soft Truvis Maple Leaf Edition Golf Balls

Chrome Soft exploded onto the market in 2015 and they just keep making it better! New to the 2018 season, Callaway introduced Graphene into their flagship golf ball. The inclusion of this 2010 Nobel Prize winning material means more distance! The Truvis pattern makes the ball more visible on the course, and this special Maple Leaf edition makes a great gift for golfers or collections, or international family and friends. Gifting them the gift of golf is great. Sharing with them a piece of Canada, even better. You can’t go wrong with this ball, that why it’s in my bag.

2UNDR Boxer Briefs

Every year when I wake up to see what Santa had brought there was always one thing I could count on, underwear… and while as a kid they did not fill me with yuletide joy, things have changed in recent years. Canadian brand 2UNDR has emerged as my go-to pair. Gone is the scratchy cotton of our grandfathers, these bad boys are made of 97% Beachwood fiber and the revolutionary Joey Pouch. And while I don’t exactly know what Beachwood fiber is, I do know this, it is comfy!

Men’s Nexbelt

Similar to 2UNDR you wouldn’t expect grand innovation in the world of belts, but Nexbelt does just that. Bringing inspiration from overseas they have perfected the ratchet buckle system. Traditional belts that have holes stretch and tear, or just don’t fit right. NexBelt uses a strip of teeth to perfectly match your waist line, even after the second helping of mashed potatoes.

I picked up my first ratchet belt over two years ago and haven’t looked back.  It is one of the few things I think every man should have in his closet as a go-to gift. Belts are often overlooked in golf, but with all the twisting and turning we do throughout a round, you want one that doesn’t interfere with your swing.

FootJoy Men’s Pro SL Spikeless Golf Shoe

Acushnet makes its appearance on my list not for its industry leading Pro V1 golf ball, but for its other industry leading pro-line, the Pro SL spikeless shoe. We may talk a lot about what clubs are in a pro’s bag, or what ball they play, but we rarely ask “what shoe do they wear?” These guys are out on the links almost every day walking, not ripping around in power carts or just playing a quick nine after work, but 18 holes of WALKING. If you spend that much time on your feet, the comfort has to be there. More pros trust their comfort and performance to this spikeless wonder then any other shoe on tour. They trust it for its versatile traction, they trust it for its full grain leather durability, and they trust it for its style. So why don’t you trust it as a sure thing gift idea? Come pick one up for the walker in your life.

PING Hoofer Stand Bag

Some days everything clicks and birdies are dropping and I like to stand out on the links. Other days… I just want to disappear into the forest that my ball decided to take a detour in. The Hoofer bag series has always been a go-to bag for those die hard walkers; with an easy water bottle pocket and 12 pockets, the Hoofer has room for all golfs essentials. The camo is my favourite – but it’s also available in other colours.

Tour Trek Flex Travel Cover

I live in Calgary and that leaves me with two options for December golf: simulator practice or flights to somewhere were the only snow they see comes in a cone. When the itch is strong the faithful must make pilgrimage to the fairer lands and you want to make sure your clubs are protected. Tour Trek Flex is a great option for the frequent flyer on your list. Durable enough to keep their sticks safe, with the added bonus of folding up when not in use for easy storage in a hotel room.

Odyssey EXO Putter

Odyssey has always been at the forefront in putters since the introduction of their famous 2-ball design and the same is true for their newest offering. Utilizing the famous white hot insert with the revolutionary microhinge display, the Odyssey EXO is one of the best flat sticks on the market, hands down! The putter is the club you use the most throughout your round, so you want to rest easy knowing you gave the gift of 12 foot birdies and those long snakes from downtown that save par.

OGIO Alpha Convoy 120 Backpack

You know Golf Town as the home of golf but we do pride ourselves in fostering other great products. This backpack is one of them. OGIO golf bags are some of the best looking and long lasting in the business. The same is true for the Alpha Convoy backpack. I like it for OGIO’s commitment to sustainability, with the Alpha being made from premium 600D Cordura® Eco polyester. The perfect gift for lugging books to school, weekend trips down to Mesa, or to carry a change of clothes to the course.

Wilson Duo Urethane

This is my sleeper ball pick. Lots of talk goes into golf balls and we see plenty of ads from the big guys, but this three-piece Urethane ball deserves more chatter. Wilson is able to deliver tour level spin and distance while still maintaining their butter soft feel.  Its performance makes it a great gift for any golfer, whether they pump it 320 into the bush or 200 down the middle.

Martini Tees Mini Shaker

The perfect stocking stuffer – martini tees are a favourite among our customers. Their oversize ball cup allows for ease of use – which is great for beginner golfers or someone who needs a little extra help teeing up the ball. They are extremely durable, so this little shaker has enough tees to last the year.

About Tyler

If Tyler Schulzke looks familiar to you – that’s for one of two reasons. 1) He’s helped you find your golf gear in our Calgary North locations or 2) You saw him on TV – as the Golf Channel and NBC Sports has done a feature on him. His favourite local course to play is Canals at Delacour. Who’s up to join his foursome?
