Qi10—Forgiveness Is The Key To These Fairways

Using breakthroughs in carbon technology and melding it with careful distribution of excess weight, TaylorMade’s Qi10 3-wood might not break through the 10,000 inertia line like driver, but it is still offers a great mix of distance and forgiveness.

“These are distance machines,” says Jamey Dees, Product Manager at TaylorMade Canada. With three different models in the fairway — Qi10, Qi10 Max and Qi10 Tour — there’s a version for practically every player.

“With the added performance of Qi10 delivered by the Infinity Carbon Crown and repositioned internal mass pads … this is a very clean overall design that delivers the vibrant sound and powerful distance that TaylorMade fairway woods are accustomed to achieving,” says Tomo Bystedt, Senior Director Product Creation at TaylorMade.

Key Technologies

Unique face design

Each Qi10 fairway, as well as the hybrids, have an optimized face design focused on delivering great speed. TaylorMade tapped into artificial intelligence and used it to determine the shape and thickness of each area to properly maximize the area where golfers are most likely to impact the ball with each fairway model.

Infinity Crown

The fairways use the new Infinity Crown, which allows engineers to push the boundaries when it comes to carbon use. Weight was shifted lower in the clubhead to maintain forgiveness with a slightly enlarged face profile to inspire confidence and generate ball speed.

Tested TaylorMade Tech

You’ll find key tested TM tech in the Qi10, including the Thru-Slot Speed Pocket, and laser etched topline. Respectively, these features boost speed on low face shots and promote consistently accurate alignment. Oh, and there’s steel here as well—V Steel technology in the face, while a sole design improves turf interaction.

Which One Is For Me?

Qi10 Fairway

Offering a great blend of distance and forgiveness, this is a high launch low spin fairway that will definitely capture the imagination of better golfers, as well as mid-handicappers. With a larger head to instill confidence, this works well from the tee and the fairway.

Qi10 Max Fairway

With tremendous forgiveness, this is a higher handicappers’ dream. With a larger front-to-back shape, you’ll get increased inertia that’s designed to deliver more stability at impact. A shallower profile and extreme MOI allows for higher launch and forgiveness across the face making this the most forgiving fairway TaylorMade has ever made.

Qi10 Tour Fairway

As you’d expect, this is aimed at better golfers seeking a fairway wood with a smaller head. This version boasts a lower profile moveable weight system with a 50g sliding weight and a 2-degree loft sleeve to offer versatile flight options.

Qi10 Rescue

With a new carbon crown, there’s a great story here with TaylorMade’s latest hybrid offering. With an internal split weighting and low center of gravity for versatility and distance, the Qi10 Rescues are easy to get into the air, even from tight lies. The entire Qi10 Rescue family features Thru-Slot Speed Pocket to optimize speed on low face hits and Twist Face corrective face angles designed to produce straighter shots.

Qi10

The Rescue that will appeal to most golfers, this has a great mid-size look and is easy to launch from any lie. It’ll appeal widely, from better golfers to higher handicap players.

Qi10 Max

Are you looking to hit your Rescue high and straight? This is going to be the model for you. With a shallow face, you can hit this fairway from anywhere.

Qi10 Tour Rescue

A low handicapper’s delight. With a deeper forged C300 face with a higher toe that provides the look better players demand, this is a workable, easily controllable hybrid. Internal heel-toe weighting promotes added forgiveness with a more compact look.
