The thing is, buying used clubs is not your average retail purchasing experience. For some, it is a quest, a lifelong passion of collection and curation, a sort of Indiana Jones pursuit to reclaim bygone treasures.  Those who have experienced this thrill of the hunt know that simply finding an elusive club can sometimes be more fun than actually playing it on the course. Often these clubs never even see the fairways, but rather hang as artwork above bars or in makeshift basement museums.

Of course, the vast majority of people taking the “pre-owned plunge” do so for the obvious reason: they want to play golf.  Over the past couple of years, golf has undergone a massive resurgence in popularity, bringing new people to the game, or golfers who have not played in years back to the course. With this fairway, flocking comes the need for equipment, and for those who are not quite ready to make a large financial investment, pre-owned clubs provide the ideal solution.

Golf Town’s decision to enter into the market of previously owned clubs was twofold: To grow the game by offering different options and price points to customers who were otherwise going unattended to, and to facilitate  a new network economy of equipment currency utilized by avid collectors and hobby buyers. With Golf Town’s size and scale, we are able to provide not only more product, but more higher quality product than anyone else while offering any adjustments or improvements right on site. Right in store. The experiential pre-owned pilot program launched in 2017 and has since grown to become a major aspect of Golf Town’s operations, with 38 stores offering pre-owned selections.

As it stands, Golf Town’s collection of pre-owned equipment greatly varies, from classic sets to new product released just this year.

Whether you’re looking to trade-in your old set to buy a new one or need to replace your driver with a previous model you regrettably got rid of and now want back in the bag, Golf Town’s pre-owned equipment can help get you find just what you’re looking for this season.

  1. Thank you for offering pre-owned clubs for sale. A great way to get new golfers equipped with a reasonable cost. Great for old fogies like me who can buy some clubs they yearned for and can now get at a great price.

  3. The decline in golf prior to the pandemic changed the new equipment market so that the options became low end and high end and not much in the middle. I think the manufacturers need to get back into the mid market if not then perhaps this used concept will work.

  4. The Golf Town used club offer is only good for those who live near one of the stores that carry used clubs.
There is no way to know just what is inventory without going to one of those stores.
To compete in this field, Golf Town needs to have a program where inventory can be searched on-line and purchased made. There are a number of companies offering this type of service here in Canada as well as many in the USA.
