Mizuno Shaft Optimizer 3D now available at all Golf Town locations

Determining the correct shaft for your particular swing is a complicated process. It involves how hard you swing, for sure, but also how you load your club and how you release it. There’s a lot of factors involved, and it is far from simple, even for experienced club fitters. Imagine your swing like your fingerprint—specific to you.

With 73 different potential shafts on Mizuno’s fitting cart, determining which one is right for your specific swing, especially in rapid fashion, is very difficult indeed.

Mizuno’s new Swing Optimizer 3D really cuts through the noise and makes fitting much cleaner. Picking the right shaft is the most difficult part of the fitting process.

That’s why the third generation of Mizuno’s Shaft Optimizer is so unique. Truly the only fully automated club fitting tool on the market, Mizuno recently updated its Shaft Optimizer.

How it Works

The Shaft Optimizer 3D works in conjunction with Mizuno’s Swing DNA software – which maps every shaft in Mizuno’s custom fit line.

Through only a couple of swings, Mizuno’s Shaft Optimizer measures a great number of elements that go into your swing, like clubhead speed, load and tempo, kick angle, your release, and whether the toe is down.

Through analyzing your swings, the Shaft Optimizer then recommends the top three potential shafts for your game, as well as suggesting potential shafts outside of the top choices. That means if you’re used to a typical shaft that falls just outside of the top choices, it is easy to compare to the results.

Another of the key elements of the Shaft Optimizer is that it uses a gyroscope to understand the lie angle of your clubs. That means no need to grab a lie board and some tape to determine where the bottom of the club strikes the ground. The Shaft Optimizer will also recommend the appropriate gapping for your set.

Why Get Fit?

Being fit for clubs is a key way to improve your game—but one too few undertake. We often hear from customers that one of the reasons they avoid fitting is that they simple don’t have the time it takes to go through all the shaft option and pick the right one for the way you strike the ball. That’s the goal of the Shaft Optimizer—to make it much easier for the fitter to determine a few shafts that are right for your swing, and narrow it down from there. Quick, simple, and results-based—that’s what you can expect from Mizuno’s new Shaft Optimizer 3D.

  1. Interesting! I feel as if I am just starting to learn and get a feel for the science of golf. Been playing for about 8 years and still amazed at how poor my score is, it will improve next game or not…will a fitting help?

  2. I just watched a YouTube video of how this product works. As a person who is new to golf and has never been properly fitted, I find the product very impressive. Unfortunately I believe it only give suggested shafts manufactured by Mizuno. There are many other shaft manufacturers out there besides Mizuno. It would be nice if all shafts manufacturing companies could add there shafts to the software. Then an even more accurate shaft could be suggested. As each company manufactures there shafts differently. Just my two cents.
