Here’s a look at some of the hottest wedges that you will want to consider at Golf Town’s Online Only Demo Event.

Callaway Epic Speed & MAX Fairway Woods

Callaway’s 2021 fairway woods, Epic Speed and Epic Max, are also significant improvements on previous models. Similar to the drivers, the fairway woods got a revamped Jailbreak system, but with their own unique design. Instead of a Speed Frame, Epic fairway woods utilize what Callaway calls “A.I. Velocity Blades,” which is quite possibly the coolest name of any golf club tech feature.

Epic Speed

Designed with the better player in mind, Epic Speed woods deliver less spin than Mavrik, while the more forward CG offers faster ball speed. If you’re a solid player who wants to work the ball both directions, this model should be in your bag. But regardless of how good you are, you’re not immune from the odd miss-hit, which is why Epic Speed’s sweet spot is an astonishingly 36% larger than the Mavrik.

Epic MAX

Coming in an oversized head, the Max model helps the player who struggles to get the ball airborne with their fairway woods, while also promoting a draw bias to straighten out the slice miss.

Callaway APEX 21 Hybrid

Callaway has long been at the forefront of hybrid innovation, delivering a series of models that have appealed to a wide variety of skill sets. Callaway’s tradition of hybrid excellence continues in with the Apex 21 and Apex Pro 21.

Apex 21

For players who like having a versatile club that can be played off the tee, from the shortgrass and out of the rough, they’ll appreciate Apex 21’s bulkier profile and greater forgiveness. If you’re a mid-handicap player who wants to fill the gap between their 3-wood and 4-iron, this is just the ticket.

Apex Pro 21

If you’re a highly skilled player who enjoys having a long iron but wouldn’t mind a bit more forgiveness and distance, you’ll appreciate Apex 21 Pro’s maneuverability. The ability to work the ball from various lies will make going for the green in two all the more appealing.

TaylorMade SIM 2 MAX Fairway Wood and Hybrid

TaylorMade has created a more forgiving fairway woods and Hybrids with better launch conditions in 2021. More forgiving, with a larger face, the SIM2 Max also features the reworked V Steel for exceptional versatility from all lies, and a refined weighting designed for forgiveness, higher launch and peak trajectories.

The SIM 2 Max hybrid offers increased forgiveness, and its C300 steel face delivers a powerful ball flight, with optimization through Twist Face. It is the Rescue for those seeking a little bit more forgiveness and a higher ball flight.

Cobra RADSPEED Fairways & Hybrids

Fairway Wood

Much the same way COBRA utilized radial weighting in their driver lineup, the RADSPEED fairway woods follow the same engineering principles. They are available in three families — RADSPEED, RADSPEED Tour and Big Tour, as well as RADSPEED Draw. COBRA engineers also incorporated hollow split rails along the sole of each fairway clubhead to generate greater face flex at impact. By hollowing out the rails, COBRA has managed to save nearly 11 grams, which provides discretionary weight to be strategically placed along the perimeter for performance optimization. In addition, the new carbon crown is 30% thinner than previous models, allowing for 6 grams more of discretionary weight to be reallocated throughout the clubhead. When you add it all up, what you get are three unique woods tailored to specific ball flights and trajectory preferences.

Hybrids

To round out the family, COBRA has unveiled their RADSPEED Hybrid and RADSPEED One-Length hybrids. Both versions use radial weighting balanced in the back and front of the clubhead, as well as two Baffler rails. Located on the sole of the club, these innovative additions help reduce unwanted dig and promote effortless launch at impact no matter how tricky your lie. And like their larger fairway wood counterparts, the hybrids are also equipped with forward hollow rails to produce greater face elasticity and faster ball speeds.

What is a Demo Club?

The clubs available in our Demo Event have been previously used by another player. This may have been outside or in an indoor simulator. Each demo club has been cleaned and inspected by a Golf Town expert before being shipped to certify that it will perform like new!
