VOTE FOR BROOKE HENDERSON FOR CANADA’S SPORTS HALL OF FAME PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD!

Brooke Henderson has long been known for her accomplishments on the golf course – they are many and, already, record setting.

But the Golf Town athlete, just three years removed from being a teenager, is already doing her part in growing golf and driving so much value to her communities of both Smiths Falls and Ottawa.

That’s why Henderson is part of the group of nominees for the Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame People’s Choice Award, and she needs your vote! Click here to cast your vote for Henderson.

New for 2019, the People’s Choice Award recognizes future Hall of Famers who are both a champion in their sport and a champion in their community.

Henderson is Canada’s top golfer – male or female – and in 2019 she won her eighth and ninth events on the LPGA Tour. Her ninth win, which came earlier this year in Michigan at the Meijer Classic, made Henderson the winningest Canadian on the LPGA or PGA Tour in history!

The 22-year-old sits fifth in world, and second in the 2019 Race to CME Globe thanks to 10 top-10 finishes in 2019.

There are seven events left in the LPGA Tour schedule this year and Henderson plans to play at least six of them with a chance to earn her third win of the season.

On a magical Sunday in August at Magna Golf Club, Henderson was in the final group at the CP Women’s Open, and was so-very-close to defending her title at Canada’s national championship.

All week long you saw the impact Henderson was having on junior golf across Canada.

The Brooke Brigade was out in force, enjoying following their hero from special Golf Town seating areas. So many juniors were walking around Magna Golf Club with PING visors on, just like Henderson, and you’d be hard pressed to find a young girl golfer who wasn’t rocking a ponytail, a signature Henderson look.

At junior clinics young golfers – and parents, too! – listen to every word of both Brooke Henderson and her sister/caddie Brittany.

In September, for example, the Henderson sisters were at Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club for a Juniors Clinic where 50-plus golfers were able to hear from Brooke and Brittany. It was a morning no one in the audience would ever forget.

Not only that, the event helped raise more than $27,000 for local charities.

Henderson has long been thrilled to support charitable initiatives, whether it be through CP Has Heart or otherwise.

As a Canadian Pacific athlete, Henderson has been the face of helping the railroad raise more than $2-million the last two years as part of the CP Women’s Open for local hospitals in need.

This month Henderson helped raise money for charities close to her heart including the Wildlife Fund of Canada, the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), and the Perth and Smiths Falls Hospitals.

So while the Golf Town athlete’s record-setting work on the golf course has been so special, her work inspiring young golfers and helping raise money for charities across Canada is what makes her so deserving of this award.
