There are worse places to spend a couple of days in March.
A group of Golf Town Master Club Fitters recently traded the cold and snow of Canada for the sun and surf of Southern California. But it wasn’t a vacation. They were there to work. To be trained by the very best at TaylorMade’s high tech fitting center in Carlsbad better known as “The Kingdom” with the end goal of sharing that knowledge with the customer for a better fitting experience.
As the home of golf in Canada, we want to be known as the best destination for club fitting. With this goal in mind, these trips provide our fitters with the best resources and knowledge to service our customers.
“The Kingdom” is where TaylorMade’s touring professionals go to get fitted and try the latest and greatest in TaylorMade gear. Our professionals were put through their paces on the range by TaylorMade’s Master Club Fitter Chris “Trottie” Trott who builds clubs for some of the best players in the world including Rory McIlroy and Dustin Johnson. “Trottie” stressed the importance of making sure the customer has clubs that are perfectly fit to them.
To get fit has never been more vital to the success of a golfer now a days. TaylorMade has various shaft options, loft options and weight configurations. Our fitters work with you to address all your needs to get the right club tailored to your game.
Kingdom rep Duane Anderson – who has spent the past 26-years with TaylorMade – spent a lot of time talking to the group about how it’s vital to build a relationship with the customer and gain their trust during the fitting process.
The most important thing a fitter can do is be empathetic with the player and understand where they are coming from and make them comfortable as many people find fittings to be intimidating.
A peak behind the curtain at The Kingdom is a rare thing. Something that our fitters were not about to take for granted. It is a phenomenal experience to see how these fitters fit the best players in the world. Now with these learnings we can take the tips shared here and apply it to our customer fittings to give them a pro like fitting experience so they can play their best golf this season.
