In celebration of SCOREGolf’s Top 100 Golf Courses Ranking, we recently hosted Canada’s Top 100 Golf Giveaway, where we gave away a prize pack which included a foursome to Kananaskis Country Golf Course – Mt. Kidd, four $50 Golf Town gift cards and four dozen Wilson Duo Soft+ golf balls! With thousands of entries from coast-to-coast, we want to thank everyone that entered.

Now without any further adieu, here is the 2020 Top Canadian Golf Courses, #20-11.

20-11 of SCOREGolf‘s Top 100 Canadian  Courses

20. Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club

A prototypical Pacific Northwest course, with narrow fairways lined by tall trees, past RBC Canadian Open host Shaughnessy always receives high praise from PGA Tour players. The course has some of the smallest targets in Canada.

19. Kananaskis Country Golf Course – Mt. Kidd

The Mount Kidd course at Kananaskis reappears on the Top 100 in grand fashion, checking in at number 19. Gary Browning adhered to, but improved upon, Robert Trent Jones’s original design when rebuilding the course following Alberta’s historic 2013 flood.

Kananaskis, AB

Public

18. Muskoka Bay Club

Doug Carrick and then design associate Ian Andrew took full advantage of exposed rock and marshy terrain to build a near-perfect front nine and a more challenging back nine Muskoka Bay. The finish is among the strongest anywhere.

Gravenhurst, ON

Public

17. Blackhawk Golf Club

Rod Whitman is a genius on a bulldozer and his shaping chops are on full display at the wonderful Blackhawk. Rugged bunkering, wide, contoured fairways and greens with plenty of movement have Blackhawk a top-20 course in Canada.

Nisku, AB

16. Greywolf Golf Course

Known primarily for its canyon-spanning Cliffhanger hole, the Doug Carrick-designed Greywolf is a solid all-around design with Carrick learning about building in the mountains from visiting Stanley Thompson’s Banff Springs.

Panorama, BC

Public

15. Club de Golf Memphrémagog

Built in 2007 but debuting on our Top 100 this year at number 15 after finally allowing raters access, Memphremagog is a sweeping Thomas McBroom creation calling for every shot in your bag. It is perfectly manicured, with those who’ve played it nominating its greens as the best in Canada.

14. Oviinbyrd Golf Club

Oviinbyrd jumps up three spots to number 14 this time around to claim best course in Ontario’s Muskoka region honours. Thomas McBroom dialed back the difficulty here and the result is spectacular.

Foot’s Bay, ON

13. Westmount Golf and Country Club

Gorgeous rolling fairways, superb green sites and a back nine with some of the strongest par 4s in the land make Stanley Thompson’s Westmount one of the best in-city courses in Canada. It retains its number 13 spot.

Kitchener, ON

12. Toronto Golf Club

Also holding its spot from last time around is number 12 Toronto Golf Club. Martin Hawtree’s restoration of the Harry Colt design brought back its breathtaking bunkering and an overall elegance worthy of the club’s rich history.

Mississauga, ON

11. Beacon Hall Golf Club

Falling just outside the top 10, number 11 Beacon Hall is acclaimed for its vastly different nines. A front side cut through tall pines that is reminiscent of the Carolinas followed by more open, links-like holes coming home.

Aurora, ON

  1. Surprised and amazed that Dundarave and Anderson’s Creek in PEI and The Springs in Radium BC are not on this list yet Copper Point and Eagle Ranch are .

    1. The list probably isn’t all that comprehensive. It’s likely just a bunch of courses that some guys liked, sprinkled with Google reviews.
