For Titleist Brand Ambassador Justin Thomas, 2017 has been a breakthrough season of epic proportions. He won five times, including the PGA Championship, successes that led to $9.9-million in earnings. And though he didn’t win the Tour Championship in Atlanta on Sunday, his second-place finish meant he did win the FedExCup, with its $10-million top prize. Not bad for a player in his third full season on the PGA Tour.

Thomas said the FedExCup win demonstrated just how consistent he was this year.
“It’s awesome just because I feel like I played so well this year,” he explained. “I mean there were a lot of great weeks and great memories—life-changing events that just kind of ended with another kind of life-changing thing for me. To just have my name on the trophy with the rest of those guys is pretty awesome.”
Throughout the entire 2017 season, Justin relied on a bag full of Titleist equipment, including 917D2 driver, 917F2 3-wood, Vokey SM6 wedges, and Pro V1X golf ball.
Thomas joins the likes of Tiger Woods, Jordan Spieth, and Rory McIlroy in winning the four-tournament playoff. But he wasn’t the only young gun to have a great Sunday. Rookie Xander Schauffele capped a strong finish to the year, winning his second tournament of the year. He closed with a 2-under 68 at East Lake.

“You know, five months ago, or two months ago, or even three hours ago I wasn’t really expecting a whole lot and to be sitting here,” said Schauffele, who finished third in the FedExCup.
Canadian Adam Hadwin finished 26th on the FedExCup list after finishing 23rd in the Tour Championship. It was a big year for Hadwin, who shot 59 early in the year, and won for the first time on the PGA Tour. He’ll be heading to New York for the Presidents Cup this week. The FedExCup win caps an incredible season for Thomas, who is now clearly among the best golfers in the world. Thomas said the victory means he has a lot to consider.
“I need to understand how to reevaluate my goals, how to reset my goals, how to deal with everything,” he said. “I’m going to have a lot more obligations and I’m going to have a lot more people wanting my time. I’m going to have a lot higher expectations from the media, from the fans, from everything.”
Indeed—superstar problems for golf’s breakout sensation.
