“It’s kind of indescribable to be honest,” Coughlin said. “Never really thought it would happen, but it did.”

This was Coughlin’s 103rd start on the LPGA Tour. She shot a 1-under 71 in the final round, but that was all she needed. The 31-year-old won by two shots, finishing at 13 under!

“I think just my story in general just shows that I’m always trying, always willing to try to do things. I am willing to stay in it. I don’t give up,” Coughlin said. “I think I showed that perfectly today.”

It was a tight battle all day between Coughlin and Haeran Ryu – paired together for the second straight day in the final group – until Ryu made double bogey on the par-4 11th and then stumbled into the house, bogeying her final three holes.

Mao Saigo, who shot a tournament-scoring record 61 on Saturday, shot a 3-under 69 Sunday to finish second, her best-ever finish on the LPGA Tour.

Ryu and Jenny Shin finished tied for third.

For Coughlin, it’s the high point of her best season ever as a pro.

Coughlin came into the week after finishing fourth at the Amundi Evian Championship, one of four top-10 finishes on the season so far. With the win, Coughlin will very likely earn her way into the Solheim Cup team for the United States – something that was high on her goal list for 2024, with it being contested less than an hour from where she is from in Virginia.

Golf Town Athlete Brooke Henderson finished tied for eighth – her seventh top-10 finish of the season!

She shot a final-round 68, her best round of the week. Henderson won the Sandra Post Medal as the low Canadian for the second straight year. She’ll take next week off before heading across the pond to compete for Canada at the Olympics.

“I think the weekend I played really solid,” Henderson said. “If I cleaned up the first two rounds a little bit, I feel like I could have been right in the mix which is a great feeling to take away. It’s awesome to finish Sunday with a -4 round because you feel like you did climb the leaderboard a little bit.

“Feel you have lots of positives and confidence to take forward which is a good thing for me going into Paris in ten days or so.”

Brooke was showered with fan love all week long, especially at the Brooke Brigade Fan Zones on No. 10 and 16 at Earl Grey Golf Club.

“I had so many people out there watching me today and I wasn’t necessarily expecting that. I was thinking they might go watch the leaders. It was just so cool,” Henderson said. “It’s just hard to describe honestly how much it means to me, all the love and support.”

Speaking of support, the Golf Town Tour Truck was incredibly well received as an amazing new asset to the CPKC Women’s Open. Golfers like Brooke, multi-time champion Lydia Ko, and defending champion Meghan Kang all dropped in to see the Truck in action.

The 2024 CPKC Women’s Open is now in the books with a great winner, a wonderful finish from Brooke Henderson, and lots of momentum heading into next year in Mississauga!
