The accolades keep coming for Golf Town athlete Brooke Henderson.
Only weeks after winning the CP Women’s Open in Regina—the first Canadian to win the tournament in 45 years—Brooke was named the female summer athlete of the year at the Canadian Sports Awards.

The Canadian Sports Awards are in their 41st year, but haven’t been presented since 2012. They honour Canadian athletic performances for the past 12 months.
Brooke, who recently turned 21, has seven career LPGA Tour wins, including a major. She’s now just one behind Sandra Post. Brooke, from Smiths Falls, Ont., is currently third on the Race to the CME Globe title that will cap the LPGA Tour season, and 8th on the Rolex World Rankings. She has two wins and 10 Top 10 finishes this year, earning $1.364-million for the year.
Decathlete Damian Warner won the for the summer sport male category, while the men’s Commonwealth Games basketball squad won the team award. Olympic star Kim Boutin was recognized as the top winter female athlete.
Brooke was also named CP Female Athlete of the Year in 2017.
