90-81 OF SCOREGOLF‘S TOP 100 CANADIAN COURSES

90. Predator Ridge Resort – Predator – Public
Vernon, B.C.

Les Furber’s Predator Course at Predator Ridge is a thrilling ride that’s heavy on elevation changes, windswept fescue areas, pot bunkers and massive greens. It drops to number 90 this time around.

89. Royal Montreal Golf Club – Red– Private
Montreal, Quebec

The Red Course at Royal Montreal cracks the Top 100 for the first time and does so at number 89. It’s a little-known secret that many Royal Montreal members enjoy playing the Red over the more esteemed Blue given its high playability factor.

88. Copper Point Golf Club – Point – Public
Windermere, B.C. Giveaway Date: July 8

Copper Point’s Point Course moves up one spot to number 88 on this year’s Top 100. The Gary Browning design features wide fairways and plenty of elevation changes through a forested terrain.

87. Cobble Beach Golf Links – Public
Owen Sound, Ontario Giveaway Date: July 8

One of many Doug Carrick creations that always makes the Top 100, Cobble Beach is a gorgeous course on the shores of Georgian Bay. The links-like design features plenty of fescue and tricky collection areas around greens.

86. Fairmont Chateau Whistler – Public
Whistler, B.C. Giveaway Date: July 10

The Fairmont Chateau Whistler in the popular B.C. playground is a wild ride through Douglas firs in the slopes of the Coast Mountain Range. The Robert Trent Jones, Jr., design drops this time around, coming in 86th.

85. Eagle Ranch Resort – Public
Invermere, B.C.

Eagle Ranch in B.C.’s interior is a splendid resort course designed by Bill Robinson that features holes perched along ancient bluffs overlooking the Columbia River. A true escape from the stresses of daily life, it ranks 85th.

84. Royal Ottawa Golf Club – Private
Gatineau, Quebec

Tom Bendelow and Willie Park, Jr. — heavy hitters from golf’s golden age of architecture — combined on Royal Ottawa, a wonderful course known for back-to-back par 3s on the inward nine that possess devilish greens. It ranks 84th.

83. Waskesiu Golf Course – Public
Waskesiu Lake, Saskatchewan Giveaway Date: July 10

Making its Top 100 debut is Waskesiu, a Saskatchewan course designed in part by Stanley Thompson. It is scenic, funky, fun and unique, and everything you could want in a golf course if you are looking for something a little different.

82. Bear Mountain Resort – Valley – Public
Victoria B.C.

The Valley Course at Bear Mountain north of Victoria has slowly but surely taken over from the Mountain Course as the resort’s top-ranked track. It is a subtler course with the par-3 14th and risk-reward par-5 15th the clear highlights.

81. Deer Ridge Golf Club – Private
Kitchener, Ontario

When it comes to challenging finishing stretches, it doesn’t get much tougher than the Thomas McBroom-designed Deer Ridge in Kitchener, Ontario. The par-3 16th is particularly stunning and helps the course to a ranking of number 81.
