The explosion in affordable launch monitors has changed the way Canadians practice and play. Where once launch monitors were only affordable by leading teaching pros who could justify costs in the tens of thousands, increasingly launch monitors have become within the price range of most avid golfers. That’s where Voice Caddie comes in. The company offers a variety of launch monitors at different price points depending on what data points you’re seeking. From the higher-priced SC4 to the consumer-friendly SC200+, Voice Caddie offers a launch monitor that should fit the budgets of most golfers.
Voice Caddie SC4 Launch Monitor
A complete portable launch monitor that is comparable to much pricier units—that’s what reviews have said about Voice Caddie’s SC4. The SC4 provides all the key metrics—distance, launch direction, swing speed, ball speed, smash factor and spin rate—and is quick and easy to set up indoors or at the range. Those metrics are very reliable when compared to so-called professional launch monitors, but you’ll get them at a fraction of the price. One of the key benefits of the SC4 is its ability to be used for simulator golf with a partnership with E6 Connect. E6 Connect allows you to play great indoor golf, making SC4 ideal for practice and play.
Is It For Me?
Are you really serious about improving your game in the off-season and having a portable unit for practice at the range? If so, you’ll want to consider SC4, which offers the power of professional units at a fraction of the cost.
Voice Caddie SC300i
First launched two years ago, this was the top model for Voice Caddie until the introduction of the SC4. Working in both indoor and outdoor settings, the SC300i offers improved accuracy and consistency with better battery life than previous units. Using a high-performing Doppler radar to track shots, and with atmospheric pressure sensors, the SC300i captures key metrics like total distance, ball speed, swing speed, and spin through the MySwingCaddie app. While it doesn’t measure swing path and requires about 10 to 12 feet of space to work effectively, the SC300i does have a barometric sensor and provides impressive accuracy in testing against much more expensive units.
Is It For Me?
If you’re looking for a launch monitor specifically for metrics when practicing, the SC300i is a great unit that offers terrific accuracy for an affordable price.
Voice Caddie SC200+
The replacement for the SC200, the + version has become popular as Voice Caddie added a key feature—swing speed readings without requiring you to hit a ball. This has become increasingly popular for those doing swing speed training that requires a launch monitor. Called “Practice Swing Mode,” it is ideal for those looking to increase swing speed without a range or practice net. SC200+ uses Doppler Radar and atmospheric sensors and provides voice output of distance. Testing showed it was comparable to much more expensive units like the Foresight GC2, with ball speed readings that were very similar. What it doesn’t offer is spin rate and launch angle, features offered in the SC300i, and you won’t be able to connect to the My Swing Caddie app.
Is It For Me?
If you’re looking to do some speed training in a basement or garage this winter, this is the unit you want to consider.
