The 2020 autumn release of TSi2 and TSi3 drivers and fairway woods were met with widespread applause, finding homes in the bags of top tour players from around the world. With such proven success, it only made sense to broaden the line to include hybrids. The TSi2 and TSi3 hybrid models are aimed at providing best-in-class versatility in two unique setups for golfers of varying skill levels. Both TSi2 & TSi3 hybrids will be available online and in stores Friday, February 26.
TSi2
The TSi2 model targets players who require a high-launching hybrid that is forgiving and can be played from various lies. Coming in a standard setup and a larger profile than TSi3, this hybrid has more the appearance and feel of a fairway wood than that of a long iron. If you’re wanting a more generalized solution on the course, the forgiving and well-rounded performance of TSi2 is just the ticket.
TSi3
The iron-like aesthetic of the TSi3 model tends to appeal to the better player who prefers shot-shaping capabilities over a larger, more forgiving profile. You’ll notice at address how square the club’s toe is, presenting a far more workable setup for those who want to shape shots with greater ease. If the TSi2 took its dominant genes from fairway woods, the TSi3 is more aligned with a long iron look and responsiveness. In terms of trajectory preferences, TSi3 tends to produce a lower flight for penetrating distance.
Key to both the TSi hybrids is their adjustability, something Tagle believes has been overlooked in the hybrid market until now. “We all stress that golfers should be custom fit for drivers and irons, so why not hybrids? The golfer may need or want to increase or decrease loft, add a degree upright or make the club flatter,” said Tagle.
Titleist’s SureFit hosel, which allows for adjustable lie and loft angles, is available in both TSi2 and TSi3, with the latter model also equipped with SureFit CG Track Technology, an innovative weighting system that releases from the sole when adjusted and then closes flat for optimal turf interaction.
TSi2 is available in 18°, 21° and 24° lofts for both right and left-handed players, while TSi3 is available in 18° and 20°.
Are they for me?
If you’re a skilled player looking to fill that gap between your woods and irons, with a desire to shape the ball both ways, TSi3 is your ticket. On the other hand, if you’re looking for an all-around fairway finder and a solution to help you reach long par-4s and the occasional par-5 without compromising forgiveness, you’re going to want to steer towards TSi2.
