Titleist launches T100 to T300, replaces AP series

The AP series of irons and Titleist are interchangeable. The AP brand, with its clean lines and appeal to strong golfers, became one of the flagships for Titleist. That’s why it is a surprise to some that Titleist is making an about face and launching a new line of irons designed to supplant the AP series. Titleist’s T100, T200, and T300, offer unique updates on Titleist’s approach to irons, promising more playability, more performance and more forgiveness.

“The T-Series represents a revolutionary step forward in Titleist iron design and technology,” said Josh Talge, Titleist’s vice-president of Titleist Golf Club Marketing. “Our club research and development team is nearly six times the size it was when the first AP iron was introduced 11 years ago. It’s because of that ongoing investment that we’ve been able to make such significant breakthroughs in materials and construction, and learn how to package those technologies into constructions that offer the look, sound and feel that players expect from a Titleist iron.”

The new line features three new models—the T100, a player’s iron with a fully-forged cavity construction, the T200, which merges aesthetics and feel, and the T300 line, which is aimed at offering higher ball speeds.

Key technologies

Max Impact

Used in the T200 and T300 series, Max Impact is a key innovation in the new clubs. The technology extends the sweet spot on the irons across the face, making them faster throughout. Titleist says the new concept still allows the clubs to have a great sound and feel, as well as offering more consistency.

Progressive set design

All three sets in the iron series offer progressive blade lengths, sole widths and hosel lengths. That means you’ll get a different center of gravity depending on the club, making the longer irons more forgiving and easier to hit.

High-density tungsten

Tungsten is used in all three irons series, which is the key to getting the ball to launch higher and stop faster on the greens.

Tour shape

The T100, which is aimed at better golfers, offers the clean, classic look one associates with Titleist irons on tour. The topline is thin and turf interaction is superior.

Who are they for?

T100

Aimed at low handicap players, the T100 is about performance and precision. The golfer playing these irons isn’t particularly worries about distance, which is why this set is already showing up on bags on the PGA Tour.

T200

For the better golfer who wants the advantages of distance. Incorporating Max Impact, these irons are about distance, but without compromising the look and feel one comes to expect from Titleist.

T300

A game improvement iron like only Titleist can make. Max Impact is used to offer distance across the clubface, but the T300 offers a high-launch concept where distance is a priority.
