Versatility is the name of the game for TaylorMade and their new titanium Stealth 2 fairway woods.
“We wanted to expand the platform for our new fairway wood, make it more versatile and invite more people to play a Stealth 2 titanium fairway wood,” said TaylorMade Golf’s Senior Director of Product Creation, Tomo Bystedt. “So, what we’ve done is applied some pretty impressive movable weight technology to the club.”
Bystedt and his team of engineers added a 50-gram sliding weight to the bottom of the Stealth 2 Plus Fairway wood, allowing for unprecedented adjustability in a fairway wood.
The new sliding weight, combined with the 2-degree loft sleeve, essentially has created three different fairway woods in one head. Shifting the weight back gives golfers higher launch and more stability; leaving the weight in the centre allows for the most versatile shot shape, and shifting the weight forward creates low-spin ball flight and maximum distance.
“Many fairway woods are built for distance or built for forgiveness,” Bystedt said. “But with the Stealth 2 Plus Fairway, you’re really getting a club that is so versatile thanks to the adjustability of the 50-gram weight, you can dial in whatever flight or shot you’re looking for.”
Stealth 2 Plus Fairway Details
Like the Stealth 2 driver, the fairway also features advanced inverted cone technology, which maximizes ball speed across the face, as well as the company’s Speed Pocket design. The fairway is multi-material construction with a combination of a titanium body, carbon crown and the steel movable weight.
Who is it for?
Do you want to hit it off the tee? Do you want to hit it off the fairway? Do you want to hit it high? Do you want to hit it low? If you answered yes to any of these questions, the Stealth 2 Plus Fairway is for you.
In addition to the titanium Stealth 2 Plus Fairway, TaylorMade is also launching two other steel fairway models—the Stealth 2 Fairway and the Stealth 2 HD Fairway.
Stealth 2 Fairway Details
The Stealth 2 Fairway has an ultra-low centre of gravity, which promotes better performance off the deck. The club also has the iconic V Steel sole design—which improves turf interaction— flexible Speed Pocket, advanced laser alignment, a 3D carbon crow and the new advanced inverted cone technology.
Who is it for?
A golfer who is after several refined technologies in a fairway wood.
Stealth 2 HD Fairway Details
Similar to the Stealth 2 Fairway, the HD model has an ultra-low centre of gravity, which promotes better performance off the deck. The club also has the iconic V Steel sole design—which improves turf interaction— flexible Speed Pocket, advanced laser alignment, a 3D carbon crow and the new advanced inverted cone technology. However, the one major difference that sets this club apart from the others is that it’s easier to launch into the air and has a draw bias ball flight built into the internal weighting.
Who is it for?
If you’re a golfer who needs a little bit of help getting the ball to launch high into the air and want to see more of a draw ball flight, the Stealth 2 HD Fairway is for you.
