TAYLORMADE’S Qi35 FAIRWAY WOODS AND HYBRIDS OFFER NUANCED FITTING FOR IMPROVED RESULTS

The ability to offer very nuanced fitting is a key story for TaylorMade’s Qi35 line in 2025, and that includes the fairway wood and hybrid category. “We’re coming out with everything being adjustable,” says Jamey Dees, TaylorMade Canada’s Golf Product Line Manager. “It really gets us into that that competitive space, by adding adjustability to the fairway woods, we’re going to have something to offer everyone. We have a tour head, something for the core golfer, as well as Max and Max Lite. You can get super dialed in with these.”

New Adjustable Sleeves

TaylorMade’s goal is to be the leader in fitting. In the case of its fairway woods, TaylorMade is incorporating a 4 degree loft sleeve into its 3 and 5-woods, improving gapping and fitting options. The goal of this is recognizing many golfers use their fairway woods in different ways—some off the tee, others from the fairway—and need clubs that serve a specific purpose.

Optimizing CG

As is the case with the driver, optimizing center of gravity in the Qi35 is key. The Qi35 3-wood sits lower than the Qi10, assisting in optimizing the CG to sit in line with the centre of the ball at address. The result is faster ball speeds without impacting forgiveness. Golfers can expect to see 200 rpm less spin on average, with distance gains of up to six yards.

Which one is for me?

Qi35

Offering a great balance of speed and forgiveness, this is a 3-wood that is utilitarian in nature, allowing players to use it from the tee and the fairway. The new fitting sleeve allows loft adjustments, making gapping easier and allowing golfers to find the right mix of long irons and fairway woods based on their specific game.

Qi35 Tour

“Tour guys aren’t using [fairway woods] to go at anything anymore because they hit the ball too far,” says Dees. Instead, they are using fairway woods off the tee and that’s really what you’ll find in the Qi35—a fairway wood for players with faster swing speeds seeking to keep the ball in play off the tee. With a 40 gram sliding weight for shaping that can be moved forward to lessen spin, this is a very customizable club aimed at the better player.

Qi35 Max

With a larger head offering confidence (at 200 cc), the goal of the Max is to make launch conditions easier, as this golfer is likely to use their 3-wood in a variety of ways. A new face profile and head shape makes it easy to get in the air from the tee or the turf, and by positioning the weight in the back of the clubhead, this is TaylorMade’s most forgiving fairway option. The 3 and 5-wood are adjustable, while the 7 and 9-wood are not.

Qi35 Max Lite

Lightweight and highly forgiving, this is aimed at the golfer with a slower swing speed who wants to get it in the air with ease. By taking weight out of the head, shaft and grip, the Qi35Max Lite helps golfers achieve faster swing speeds and more distance as a result.

Qi35 Hybrids

Featuring multi-material construction utilizing chromium carbon, steel and aluminum, TaylorMade’s engineers have created a hybrid that promotes high launch conditions through optimizing center of gravity.

Alignment

TaylorMade has aligned its TSS weighting system with the centre of gravity to enhance energy transfer through the clubface.

Twist Face

One of TaylorMade’s standby technologies, designed to improve mishits on the toe and heel, Twist Face is incorporated in the Qi35 hybrid, along with an ultralight carbon crown.

Thru-Slot Speed Pocket

Another of TaylorMade’s noted technologies, Thru-Slot offers consistent performance by the club’s face on every shot.
