You won’t find a carbon face in the Stealth fairway woods line—but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t check out these ultra-fast fairways with enhanced playability.
Yes, the Stealth driver has a much-vaunted carbon face. No, you won’t find it in the Stealth fairway woods. Why? Because, at the current time, it doesn’t make much sense, says Tomo Bystedt, Senior Director of Product Creation for TaylorMade.
“The face on a fairway wood is already pretty small and light,” says Bystedt. “I’m not going to say never, but there’s no plans to put carbon into the fairway wood because it doesn’t make that significant a different in weight transfer.”
Instead, what the golfer is getting are two versions of the Stealth fairway—one aimed at the better player with a flatter ball flight, and one aimed at the majority of golfers. The all new Stealth fairway woods can be pre-ordered now and will be available both in store and online Feb. 4th.
Key technologies
V Steel Sole Plate
A staple of TaylorMade fairways in recent years, the V Steel Sole offers great turf interaction.
Twist Face
A key technology that straightens hooks and fades. The face of the Stealth fairway line is made of Titanium Zatech, a material the company calls a breakthrough.
A 175cc head has been meticulously shaped to meet the needs of the world’s best players while inspiring confidence for all skill levels. The face is now 12% larger as compared to SIM2, but maintains a similar address size for enhanced playability and shot making.
3D Carbon Crown
The carbon crown allows TaylorMade engineers to move weight down and back, increasing forgiveness and playability.
Thru-Slot Speed Pocket
TaylorMade says this is its most flexible Speed Pocket to date, increasing forgiveness and ball speed.
Which one is for me?
