SPECIAL EDITION GEAR UNLIKE ANY OTHER

Do you hear that?

There’s nothing wrong. But a quick look out the window and it’s likely you’re seeing what we’re seeing and hearing the sounds of spring.

While many golfers through British Columbia and some other lucky spots across Canada have already had their first rounds of the season after winter’s deep chill, most golfers in this country are just gearing up for their season to begin.

And with spring knocking on our door, that means the first men’s major of the year is here, too.

It’s the most wonderful time of year, don’t you think?

The course in Georgia has been the home of so many magical moments in golfing lore over time. Jack Nicklaus in 1986! Tiger Woods in 1997! Mike Weir in 2003! Tiger, again (take your pick)! Each year with those Georgia pines on our televisions and the idea of pimento cheese on our minds we can help but feel excited for what’s to come.

This year we have plenty of fun gear that will be coming soon all wrapped in the first major of the PGA Tour’s calendar and ready to pick up before your own golf season really begins.

TaylorMade has been a long-time partner of Dustin Johnson, who won his second major championship title at the spring season-opener (which happened to be played in the fall that year!) just two years ago. If you’re keen to rock some of the same bags and headcovers as the best in the world, including two-time major winner Collin Morikawa and going-for-the-grand-slam Rory McIlroy, then make sure to check out some of TaylorMade’s season-opener line.

From the 2020 winner, Johnson, to the 2021 winner, Hideki Matsuyama, his ball of choice – Srixon – has released two limited edition Z-Star 24 packs of golf balls just in time to help you get fully loaded for your early-season golf games.

But what about the Canadians? Ping, trusted by both Mackenzie Hughes and Corey Conners (who, along with Mike Weir, make up the Canadian contingent in Georgia) have some fun headcovers and snapback caps ready to go for the first week of April.

Finally, the folks at Barstool Sports and the very popular Spittin’ Chiclets podcast – co-hosted by Canadian Paul Bissonnette – have a huge drop inbound. Look for the Pink Whitney (its dangerously delicious alcoholic pink lemonade) ‘Azaleas’ line with headcovers, towels, hats, and shirts for something a little different on the course in 2022.

Regardless of what you put in your bag or your closet it’s always fun to see what kind of exciting new stuff gets released at this time of the year. Golf season is right around the corner, and the first men’s major of the year is the biggest sign of them all!
