PING Introduces New Lightweight Clubs Designed for Women Golfers

In the last few years interest in golf has surged. And that includes women golfers who have fallen hard for the game. PING recognized that female players could benefit from a line of clubs that help generate speed, get the ball in the air and are fully engineered with women golfers in mind.

“Our on-going commitment to engineering lightweight, easy-to-hit, premium clubs for women is rooted in PING’s long history of supporting women’s golf, dating back to the early 1970s,” said PING Executive Vice President Stacey Pauwels, who oversees the development of PING products made exclusively for women. “It started with my grandparents, Karsten and Louise Solheim, and continues today with the Solheim Cup and other game-growing initiatives.”

The G Le3 line isn’t just men’s clubs recreated for women. Instead, it is a line where every element is focused on the female golfer, from the colour scheme to swing speed. And it is a full complement of clubs, from driver through to putter, all engineered with the woman golfer’s game in mind.

Is This For Me?

PING’s G Le3 line is ideal for female golfers looking to elevate their game, increase distance, and get the ball in the air higher, more easily.

Aesthetics

The line offers a sophisticated colour combination of navy, gold and silver accents, creating a premium and high-performance appeal for women, while adding a dash of fun to the sets.

Light Shafts

With the entire line crafted to create ball speed, PING used proprietary ULT250 Lite and Ultra Lite shafts to bring down overall club weight.

Drivers Created For Lower Swing Speeds

The Le3 driver is created with swing speeds of 80 miles per hour or less, with the goal of higher launching shots that fly further. To accomplish that, PING’s engineers developed a 460cc titanium head with a forged face maximized to get the best results from swing speeds of 80 mph or less. The drivers come with a 460 cc titanium head to create confidence, and there’s a high-density fixed weight in the back of the clubhead to optimize forgiveness, while a low and back centre of gravity delivers faster ball speeds and tighter dispersion. This is PING’s longest driver for women—ever.

Long Fairway Shots

PING’s fairway woods in the line are designed to launch high and offer more ball speed. With a maraging steel Face Wrap to limit spin and optimize flex, these are woods that work from the tee or the fairway. Available in 3 to 9-woods. PING says the new woods offer up to 7.5 more yards than the previous generation—a huge gain.

Easy To Hit Irons

The irons in the line are designed with players creating a combo or irons and hybrids, which ensures great gapping and works well for players seeking to get longer shots in the air more readily. With added forgiveness through heel and toe weighting, as well as a thinner face for greater ballspeeds, these are lightweight clubs designed to be easy to swing. There are three wedge options in the set, with the irons available from 6 to 9. The wedges use PING’s famed EYE2 design attributes, with machined grooves and a slim hosel to make hard shots look easy.

Get The Ball In The Air With Hybrids

Creating a transition from the mid-irons, the G Le3 hybrids are designed to generate confidence and distance. Available in four through seven, they also use maraging steel faces that flex at a faster rate for high launch conditions.

Putters In Four Designs

With four versions inspired by PING’s long history with putters, all versions in the G Le3 line use a white, two-piece Pebax elastomer insert consisting of a soft front with PLD-inspired shallow grooves and a firmer back to ensure the optimal combination of feel, forgiveness and distance control. The four designs—Anser, Fetch, Ketsch, and Louise, which pays tribute to Louise Solheim—all use tour-proven concepts based on some of the most noted putters in history.
