PING CEO John K. Solheim has put a renewed focus on the company’s origins—wedges and more specifically, putters. That’s obvious in the company’s latest additions to its Putting Lab Design flatsticks.
“It allows us to bring golfers more of what we do best – design and build the highest-performing putters in the game,” Solheim says of the company’s focus on putters. “A key part of the program is the PLD Milled series, which offers premium-milled putters inspired by tour players to bring golfers the latest in score-lowering performance on the green.”
The goal of these five putters is to tap into PING’s most popular offerings in the past, while adding some new designs. “This year’s additions represent an exciting balance of that strategy,” Solheim says.

Forged And Milled
Four of the new models (Anser, Anser 2D, DS72 and Oslo 3) are machined from forged, 303 stainless steel with a gunmetal finish. The deep Aggressive Milling Pattern technology on all models offers tour-inspired sound, feel, and speed. More than four hours of milling is put into every model, offering an incredible attention to detail on the surface and radius.
Tour-Inspired
PLD putters are a mix of old favourites—the Anser—and newer putters like the DS72, which is used by Viktor Hovland. The Anser 2D and Oslo 3 are tour-influenced, high-MOI designs and the Ally Blue 4 is a new, multi-material mallet that delivers exceptional forgiveness with can’t-miss alignment features.
Which One Is For Me?
Ally Blue 4
A fully machined, three-piece design, this putter is differentiated by its square footprint and full-length top alignment aid. Aimed at strong-arc putters, the Ally Blue 4 consists of an aluminum body, stainless steel soleplate and aluminum hosel to create an extremely high-MOI, easy-to-align mallet.
Anser
A legendary putter, the PLD Anser has a white sight line in the cavity and the gunmetal finish.
Anser 2D
The Anser 2D has a slightly deeper, perimeter-weighted design and features clean heel-toe ballasts to aid in alignment, and a sightline in the cavity.
DS72
A mid-mallet, this is for golfers seeking a face-balanced putter with a wide top rail and ball-width cavity created by its clean heel and toe ballasts.
Oslo
This is a great option for a golfer with a slight arc putting stroke. Its light aluminum hosel helps position weight low to optimize the center of gravity for improved consistency and accuracy.
The putters look amazing. Can not wait to use one in play.
