We’ve all had the putt—the one you felt was perfect, but slid by the edge of the hole. Opportunity lost, you try to figure out what went wrong. Did you hit it through the break? Maybe you didn’t strike it well enough?
The truth is you probably weren’t lined up properly, with your eyes slightly tricking you. You don’t need to be off by much to miss a putt—something Callaway’s Sean Toulon, who manages the company’s Odyssey putter line, fully recognizes. That’s why the company is now employing its Triple Track system on the 2020 line of Odyssey putters, which hit Golf Town on January 31. Developed by St. Louis entrepreneur Ray Barrett, and endorsed by optometrists, the Triple Track system is a key to assisting golfers in aligning appropriately.
“If you’re off by one degree on a 10-foot putt, you’re going to miss it,” says Toulon. “Most golfers—even pros—are off a bit and we really believe Triple Track is going to help fix that.”
Key technologies
Vernier Hyper Acuity
A visual technology that was first introduced in Callaway’s golf ball line, the goal of Vernier Hyper Acuity (essentially the coloured lines on the ball) is to help improve your alignment. It is the same technology used to assist planes when they are landing on aircraft carriers. Callaway says the technology improves alignment by 27%. “I’ve done over 1,500 putter fittings and I’ve never seen anything like this,” says Toulon.
Stroke Lab
Last year’s big move by Odyssey was designed to make golfers stroke the ball more effectively. It returns this year, and Callaway continues to be exceedingly bullish on the innovation, noting the number of professional wins around the world that occurred using Stroke Lab putters. Stroke Lab saves 40 grams of weight, which is redistributed to the head and grip end of the putter, re balancing it for improved tempo and consistency in the stroke.
Microhinge Star Insert
The insert provides a firmer feel and enhanced sound at impact while maintaining the same roll benefits of our popular White Hot Microhinge Insert.
Who is it for?
There are seven versions of Odyssey’s line that are incorporating Triple Track technology, ranging from blades to two-ball mallet versions. Making sure you’ve got the right putter for your stroke is key, but there’s no doubting there’s a version in the line that will fit your particular putting style.

Love the new putter, I purchased my 2 ball when they first came out. I am a very usual person so I took my husband’s carpenters L and put my own line on down the centre! All my girlfriends have had me do the same to theirs! I guess I should have sent a picture in that many years ago lol
