New hybrids evolve from Titleist Speed Project

A few years ago, Titleist was seen as having fell behind some of its rivals when it came to delivering a driver clubhead that offered speed and significant distance gains. That changed last year when Titleist launched its TS driver line, which was promoted with a social media campaign around fitting and distance gains. The company is continuing the approach with the creation of its TS hybrid line, once again promising distance gains with variations through its TS2 and TS3 hybrids. Throw away those long irons—that’s the promise of the TS hybrid line. So far PGA Tour pros are doing just that, making the new line the most-played on tour.

“Titleist hybrids were already by far the industry leader for hybrid performance, speed and distance – and now we’ve taken that to another level with these TS models,” said Stephanie Luttrell, director of metalwoods development at Titleist.

Features and Benefits

  • Titleist spent considerable time and effort finding a way to make distance gains in the TS drivers, and that’s translated over to the new line of hybrids. The TS hybrids offer a thinner face—the thinnest Titleist has ever made and 16 percent thinner than the previous gen of hybrids—and that provides faster ball speeds. But wait—Titleist is also promising a more forgiving hybrid as well, which is the best of both worlds.
  • A new crown and the thinner faces offer a lower center of gravity, meaning these hybrids launch higher and spin less. Forgiveness is 10 percent higher than the last generation of Titleist hybrids.
  • There are two versions of the hybrid—TS2 and TS3. TS2 is made for maximum distance, while the TS3 model is aimed at those who want to shape the ball more, and offers additional customization through Titleist’s Magnetic SureFit CG. Both models can use the SureFit Hosel system.

Who are they for?

TS2: With a larger profile, this hybrid is designed for players seeking distance who sweep the shot. Those who fit into this category will find easy distance and lots of height on their shots.

TS3: More of a player’s club, this hybrid has a square toe shape and will fit the eye of those who prefer to play a long iron. Designed to offer a controlled mid-launch, the TS3 is for players who hit down on their hybrids.

Titleist TS2 & TS3 hybrids will be available, now in-stores and online!
