Volvik has nearly four decades of golf ball production in its history, becoming one of the more notable golf ball companies over that time. Largely noted for its three and four-piece, multi-layer golf balls, the company holds 58 worldwide patents on its designs. It is perhaps best known for its bright array of colourful golf balls, which utilize its patented SF matte coating, which is utilized in its Vivid golf ball. Volvik golf balls have been used on every major tour and is widely popular on the LPGA. Bubba Watson made headlines last year when he used on the PGA Tour.

A Closer look at Volvik Vivid

A 3-piece ultra-performance golf ball, Volvik’s research team figured out how to apply a matte finish to one of the longest golf balls on the market without sacrificing distance or durability. That means it is visible and attractive (and comes in multiple colours).  The Vivid is a mid-spinning ball.

Who’s it for: The Vivid ball is aimed at golfers with a 70 to 90 mile per hour swing speed who get more out of a softer compression ball.
