Spider X is one of the hottest putters on the market—but once again, TaylorMade is thinking, well, small. That’s right—Spider Mini is returning, this time with a wingless design that delivers the performance of the regular Spider, but in a smaller package.
Here’s what you need to know:
- 15%—That’s how much smaller Spider Mini is when compared with Spider Tour. The smaller head still offers higher MOI—making the putter very forgiving, but moves the centre of gravity forward, making it easier to release the blade.
- Pure Roll—The insert found in Spider putters is also in Mini, and its soft polymer increases topspin and improves roll across the face. That means you’ll find it easier to start on line—and keep it there.
- Customizable—an adjustable sole weight—ranging from 2.5 to 20 grams—makes it easy to fine-tune this putter to your specifications.
- T-sightline—Increasingly putter designers have focused on ensuring you start on the correct line. The new T-sightline does just that, once again offering the dimensions of a blade for those that prefer that look.
Who Is It For?
Thought the regular Spider X was too bulky for your eyes? Well, Spider Mini might be just the fix. You get much of the same technology, but in a smaller package, and the putter head is easier to release. In that regards it makes Spider Mini closer to a blade, setting it up as an alternative for those not willing to seek higher forgiveness in a bigger package, but still seeking the technology Spider has to offer.
Spider Mini is available now in stores and online.
