Let’s be honest—most amateur golfers, and even many pros, don’t always catch their putts square in the clubface. Even a fraction of an inch off-center can result in diminished speed. Cleveland’s new HB SOFT 2 offers a true stroke and more consistent feel, while catering to different stroke types.
By considering every element of the putter—the grip, hosel and shaft—and both face-balanced and toe hang models, this is a putter with tons of technology that fits each individual golfer. “We want golfers to stand over their ball knowing their putter is going to be in sync with their stroke,” said Jacob Lambeth, R&D Research Engineer Supervisor at Cleveland Golf.
There are nine options in the line—lots of opportunities to find the right flatstick for your specific stroke. With options ranging from traditional blades to modern mallets, you’ll find something that captures your eye in the line.
Key Technologies
SOFT
An acronym for Speed Optimized Face Technology, the putters face uses individualized milling patterns to normalize speed across the face. That means, regardless of whether you miss the center towards the toe or the heel, you’ll see consistent speeds.
Alignment
The milling patterns are aligned to the head shape, as well as the moment of inertia and the weighting profile.
Counterbalanced
Using a 20-gram counterbalance weight in the butt end of the shaft to provide consistent feel and confidence with each stroke.
New Shape
The HB SOFT 2 introduces a new head shape—the Retreve. The head shape allows golfers to have the ability to pick the ball out of the hole without bending over.
