Hottest golf clubs to get for less at Golf Town’s Demo Event

New drivers that are more refined, more forgiving, and help correct mishit shots. Irons that fly higher and straighter than ever before. Wedges that allow you to dial in that yardage when you need it, and putters that put those shots in the bottom of the cup.

That’s the story of equipment in 2018, and our Demo Event coming up this weekend, it is a great time to reflect on some of the great clubs that hit the market this year. These gently used clubs—from PING’s exceptional G400 driver to TaylorMade’s Spider Tour putter—are available with some big savings.

Here’s a look at some of the hottest clubs from 2018 that you will want to consider:

Driver & Woods

PING G400

Forgiving, with easy distance, PING continues to make drivers that could be used by anyone—from your home course to the PGA Tour.

Who uses it: The driver of choice for Golf Town athlete Brooke Henderson who used the G400 to propel her to a win at the CP Women’s Open in Regina.

TaylorMade M4

Twist Face. The technology that coaxed off-centre shots back to the fairway, was one of the most anticipated drivers on the market.

Who uses it: Dustin Johnson, who flipped between the M3 and M4 for much of the season.

Callaway Rogue

A great follow-up to Callaway’s breakthrough Epic driver, Rogue’s Jailbreak technology was accentuated with more forgiveness.

Who uses it: Phil Mickelson, Sergio Garcia, Michelle Wie.

Cobra King F8

Launched by touting its refined manufacturing process that Cobra says offers more forgiveness, the King F8 was found in the bags of multiple winners.

Who uses it: Bryson DeChambeau, Rickie Fowler, Lexi Thompson

Irons

TaylorMade M4

Based on its RIBCOR technology that helps transfer more energy from the clubhead through the ball, M4 irons fly high and straight, while not looking like your father’s game improvement irons.

Who they’re for: Have trouble getting the ball in the air? M4 is for you.

PING G400

PING’s G400 irons have a sleeker topline, and a face that’s 40% thinner which yields more feedback to the golfer. Faster than previous versions, the key is the face-flexing technology that allows the ball to launch faster.

Who they’re for: Want to have confidence standing over a shot—then try G400.

Callaway Rogue

With their multi-material construction are designed to create the perfect blend of distance and feel, Rogue irons are a combination of Callaway’s key breakthroughs—variable face technology, and face cup.

Who they’re for: With a variety of options, Rogue can fit every player from the low-handicapper to the player seeking irons that are easy to get airborn.

Cobra F8

With its E9 PWRSHELL technology, Cobra created thinner faces on its F8 irons that in turns creates faster ball speeds across the face.

Who they’re for: Don’t always hit the centre of the clubface? F8 was designed so shots that don’t hit the sweet spot capture potential lost distance.

Wedges

Callaway MD4

Offering aggressive main grooves that are saw-cut and milled to precise tolerances, Callaway’s latest wedge offered spin that the club’s creator, Roger Cleveland, said he’d never before witnessed.

Who uses them: Canadian Adam Hadwin

TaylorMade MG HI-TOE

The goal of each HI-TOE wedge was to offer an expanded toe area that delivers high-spin performance whether it is on tight lies, out of a bunker, or in long rough.

Who uses them: Jon Rahm

PING Glide 2.0

Sharper grooves that are closer together for increased friction and in turn impart more spin (up to 400 rpm), PING’s Glide 2.0 is designed for trajectory control on scoring shots.

Who uses them: Canadian Mackenzie Hughes

Cleveland RTX 3

Cleveland wedges have long been one of the hottest items at Golf Town, and the third generation of the RTX wedge is no different. The blade shape design is ideal for maximizing all-around wedge performance to help you perfect your game and get closer to the hole.

Who uses them: Before the fourth generation wedge was released this fall, you could find the RTX 3 in Keegan Bradley’s bag.

Putters

TaylorMade 2018 Spider Tour

Even tour pros need a forgiving putter, which is one of the reasons the Spider Tour has become one of the most recognizable flatsticks on tour.

Who uses it: Jason Day, who is currently the best putter in the world.

Odyssey 2018 O-Works Red & Black Putter

Data drew Callaway designers to the mallet shape that makes up the O-Works Red and Black putter lineup. Stats have demonstrated that putters with roll-enhancing capabilities leads to more putts finding the bottom of the cup, and the colours—red and black—are the hot looks on tour.

Who uses it: Henrik Stenson used an O-Works putter for much of 2018.

Evnroll Putters

Evnroll developer Guerin Rife has been making flatsticks for more than two decades. Their 2018 putter line is the perfect blend of design and performance technology to help eliminate miss-hits.

PING Cadence TR Putters

Offered in various head shapes across all stroke types, Cadence TR putters benefit from the next generation of True-Roll technology: grooves vary in width and depth for exceptional distance control.

  1. Unfortunately, I’m not anywhere near a store and also I’m attending a Farmer’s Xmas market with my wife on Saturday.
I’m looking for a RH 917F2 18* HEAD only, is there any chance we could do something online or over the phone for this?
    Thanks for your consideration.

    1. The Demo Clubs are available in-store only and in order to give all customers equal opportunity to purchase we are unable to do any holds on products or process orders over the phone. If you can’t make it in-store, we will also have some great club savings available on http://golftown.com

  2. Have heard through the”grape vine” that several of the locations will not be receiving any extra inventory this year . Is there any truth to this rumour?

  3. If I am looking for some clubs that are a match for my Bio Cell irons, I am hoping to just find clubs that fill in those gaps…hopefully an individual Bop |Cell or Amp Cell in those irons with blue or red stiff steel shafts. I am hopeful that those clubs will find their way into the demo racks at Golf Town over the course of the year!
