Cleveland Golf Unleashes Launcher XL 2 Driver

More ball speed. More forgiveness.

That’s the key to a successful driver, and Cleveland Golf says it has accomplished just that with its Launcher XL 2 driver using its new MainFrame XL Face technology. Powered by artificial intelligence, Cleveland says they’ve made significant forgiveness gains across the clubface, and an enlarged sweet spot means better ball speed on off-centre strikes. It is a winning combination.

“We want players to feel confident off the tee and know they’re going to get the most out of their round with the best club in the bag,” says said Dustin Brekke, Director of Engineering at Cleveland Golf. “Across the board players are going to see a noticeable difference in distance, feel, and consistency.”

Key Technology Advances

Mainframe XL Face

Using AI, Cleveland engineers have created a variable thickness face design that reshapes and enlarges the sweet spot, improves energy transfer, and delivers powerful ball speeds for maximum distance.

Head Design

A new head design has made the clubhead two percent more forgiving from heel to toe, and 12 percent higher moment of inertia in the high/low portion of the face.

Adjustable

The Launcher XL 2 has an adjustable hosel that allows golfers to dial in their shot shape.

Action Mass CB

An 8-gram counterbalance weight used in the end of the shaft to create a more stable swing.

Launcher XL 2 is Cleveland’s most forgiving driver to date, and its black crown, with minimal detailing, is confidence boosting at address. The XL 2 Draw version is clearly aimed at those golfers seeking to limit a slice. Cleveland’s use of counterbalancing is unique among most manufacturers and may appeal to certain golfers.
