Callaway Unleashes Epic Super Hybrid

It’s an iron, it’s a fairway wood, it’s… a driver? For several years now, hybrids have been providing golfers the precision and workability of an iron with the distance and forgiveness of a fairway wood—that’s why they’re called hybrids. It’s a winning combination that has made the club ubiquitous in the bags of amateurs and professionals alike. But Callaway has gone a step further, pushing the envelope on how a hybrid can look and perform. The Epic Super is the embodiment of new age versatility, with distance top of mind, creating what the company says is the farthest hybrid ever made. The Callaway Epic Super Hybrid can be pre-order online and will be available in store and online September 9th.

Driver DNA?

You don’t need to be a golf club geneticist to understand how this hybrid incorporates driver DNA into its makeup. With an all titanium head, traxial carbon crown, A.I. Flash Face, JailBreak Velocity Blades and an adjustable OptiFit 3 Hosel to dial in your preferred lofts, the Epic Super borrows loads of tech that Callaway has historically implemented in their driver lines. More obvious to the naked eye is the general shape and size of the clubhead. Players will immediately notice the overall design of the Epic Super more closely resembles that of a fairway wood or driver than an iron, with a taller face, meatier crown and more rounded edges.

Tons of Tungsten

To deliver an outrageously low centre of gravity that generates phenomenally high trajectories, Callaway has loaded up to 90 grams of tungsten around the peripheral of the clubhead. The added tungsten also provides greater stability at impact and through the turf, helping golfers make more consistent strikes in a variety of turf conditions.

Optimal Offerings

To further expand its playability, the Epic Super comes in a host of loft options, with 16°, 18°, 21° and 24° versions available. Whether you’re a high handicapper looking for something to keep you in play off the tee and out of the rough, or a scratch player who wants to hit more par-5s in two with exacting precision, the Epic Super appeals to wide-range of players. After all, who doesn’t love hitting bombs?
