Every player knows that wedges are undoubtedly the most versatile club in the bag, and so does Callaway. That’s why their latest Full Toe JAWS wedge line has been meticulously engineered to deliver a greater variety of shot-making ability for whenever you’ll need it on the course. With deeper, more aggressive grooves and a redistributed CG for improved trajectory and control, the Full Toe JAWS delivers unparalleled performance from the fairway to the fringe. These will be available on Thursday, September 9th both online and instore.
Grittier Grooves
The new Full Toe JAWS starts with grooves that are sharper and deeper than past gens, utilizing what Callaway calls “groove-in-groove” tech. Essentially, these grooves have been pushed to their absolute legal limit, with the company “fully” toeing the line set forth by the USGA. And if you’re going to hire a legal team during the groove creation process, you better maximize their use, which is exactly what Callaway has done. The JAWS grooves expand across the entirety of the face to provide maximum forgiveness and spin on a variety of shots. Lastly, subtle microgrooves run at a diagonal across the face, allowing players to open up the face up and swipe across the ball while keeping the spin perpendicular and the shot on its intended line.
Raw Face
In what has become an increasingly popular aesthetic and performance feature across the industry, Full Toe JAWS comes with a raw face finish that rusts over time. But fret not, only the hitting zone on the face will rust, the rest of the club head will maintain its clean chrome or matte black finish.
Lower CG
There’s a little more beef on the backside of these wedges, especially at the top-end, which Callaway has aptly coined as their “JAWS Toe Pad” to create a higher CG. Unlike drivers or irons that seek to have the CG as low as possible to deliver towering trajectories, heavily lofted wedges don’t require all that bottomed out weight to make the ball fly high. Instead, JAWS Full Toe’s higher CG helps generate a flatter, more controlled trajectory that cuts through the wind and provides a more consistent carry distance. Full Toe JAWS incorporates a rounded C-grind sole to improve turf interaction and reduce unwanted heel and toe dig. Finally, the Variable Weighting Port System gradually pushes weight further toward the toe for more strike consistency.
