Tiger and Bryson play it, and now Bridgestone’s TOUR B ball is getting a makeover to make it faster when hit with a driver, and stickier when chipped at the hole.
You’ve probably heard the saying, “It’s what’s on the inside that counts.” Well, they weren’t talking about golf balls. From their core to their outer cover, the engineering process to create a golf ball takes every layer into account. This is especially true when it comes to Bridgestone’s latest Tour B lineup, equipped with innovative REACTIV iQ cover technology. Played by the likes of Bryson DeChambeau and Tiger Woods, both of whom were instrumental in offering their own R&D advice on the project, the latest TOUR B seeks to deliver unique performance properties depending on which shot is being hit—fast off the face when struck with a driver, while delivering abrasive traction with your scoring clubs for enhanced spin and accuracy. The result is a ball that reacts as you want it to, without giving it mid-flight commands.
Highly Intelligent Cover
An entire round of golf can be whittled down to just a couple of seconds—the cumulative time that a ball is contacting the club face. These ever-valuable milliseconds dictate your entire score, which is why Bridgestone has put loads of effort into improving this most ephemeral relationship between ball and club. The company’s new REACTIV iQ cover adapts to the force being applied to it, providing optimal flight, feel and spin depending on which shot you’re hitting. Fast off the face with longer clubs, sticky with tons of spin with your wedges.
It’s sort of like having a car that morphs into a pickup truck when you’re demoing your house, but can also perform the duties of a convertible when you’re driving to the beach. Whatever the situation, REACTIV iQ adapts to your needs. Each of the four TOUR B models utilizes this brilliantly engineered cover, meaning every player can benefit from its sensory intelligence. Golf is, after all, a contact sport.
Be the Ball
TOUR B is your typical happy family of four, which includes TOUR B RX, TOUR B RXS, TOUR B X and TOUR B XS.
Players with swing speeds over 105 mph are going to benefit most from the TOUR B X and XS models. If you tend to slice your ball or have a less-than-penetrating ball flight, you’re better off trying the X model with its lower spin. If you could use a few extra RPMs, XS is your best bet.
For those with swings speeds under 105 mph, TOUR B RX and RXS are for you. These models are softer and easier to compress, allowing for effortlessly improved distance. Want more spin? Try RXS. Want to level out your slice and keep it play? RX is the ticket.
