Beautiful Power: Srixon New ZX line of Irons has something for every golfer

Srixon continues to be at the forefront of iron design and performance, and the new ZX5, ZX7 and ZXUT irons represent the perfect combination of beauty and power. The state-of-the-art design and cutting edge technology combined with an all-new impressive look, the new Srixon ZX family of irons might be the best they’ve ever produced and will officially launch in North America on January 15, 2021.

ZX Irons

Created with human intelligence yet perfected by the artificial kind (AI), MainFrame is a one-of-a-kind face design that increases ball speed on every shot. Milled into the backside of every iron face, MainFrame is a variable thickness pattern made up of grooves, channels, and cavities.

“While the new ZX Irons are gorgeous to look down at, it’s the technology inside that’s even more exciting,” said Jeff Brunski, Vice President of Research and Development. “Hotter faces designed using AI optimization delivers more speed. Meanwhile, varying grooves throughout the iron set gives golfers consistent distance control, and forged construction helps them feel incredible at impact.”

After two years of learning and refining, these final faces offer greatly improved COR because they maximize flex at impact for more ball speed on every strike.

Srixon ZX5

The ZX5 irons looks razor sharp at address and the MainFrame face is made of strong and elastic SUP10 steel to the iron’s forged 1020 body to provide unmatched extremely soft feel and the ability to absorb vibrations.

The idea is to make the face as thin and as fast as possible while optimizing the pattern to maximize ball speed where golfers are most likely to hit it making it appeal to a large group of golfers.

Srixon are currently offering the Nippon N.S. PRO Modus3 Tour as its stock iron shaft. The ZX5 is more of a better player’s game improvement iron and features the lighter PRO Modus3 Tour 105 in both R flex (103 grams) and S flex (106.5 grams). The stock grip is the Golf Pride Tour Velvet 360.

Srixon ZX7

Meanwhile the Srixon’s ZX7 iron unlike the ZX5 does not have MainFrame face technology. The ZX7 is one-piece 1020 carbon steel forged iron with a slimmer topline and more compact blade shape.

It has added mass behind the ball for better and more consistent feel at that impact that delivers increased workability as well as tungsten in the toe to increase the forgiveness.

The ZX7 features the heavier and lower launching PRO Modus3 120 shaft as stock in both S flex (114 grams) and X flex (120 grams). Like the ZX5, the Golf Pride Tour Velvet 360 is also the stock grip offering.

Both the ZX5 & ZX7 irons offer an updated V-Shaped Tour Sole that glides smoothly through the turf while also featuring the resurgence of our popular sole notches. They also both have progressive grooves to improve consistency from 8i through PW. The grooves are sharper, narrower, and deeper for more spin and stopping power on approach shots into the green.

ZX Utility

Smaller and more compact than the previous generations, this new Utility iron delivers a more blade-like address profile that blends seamlessly with any set.

ZX Utility Irons deliver Srixon’s MainFrame technology, along with a hollow design and multi-piece construction. All of these powerful technologies come together in a smaller profile, with all the same forgiveness that is expected from a utility iron. It will be available in an 18-degree 2-iron, 20-degree 3-iron and 23-degree 4-iron.

The stock shaft for the ZX Utility is a graphite UST Mamiya Recoil 95 available in R, S and X flex, categorized as mid-launch. To stay consistent with the ZX5 & ZX7, the Golf Pride Tour Velvet 360 grip is the stock grip.

The entire lineup of irons will be available in store and online January 15, 2021.
