Forgiveness, customization, and finding the sweet spot has never been easier with the top drivers of 2024. The evolution of the multi-material construction, carbon crowns, adjustable weights, as well as ever-present AI technology, allows this year’s drivers to bring more fairways and set you in a great position to attack more greens.
TAYLORMADE Qi10
The Qi10 is an incredibly forgiving driver with an engineering feat of 10k inertia—a 16 per cent gain from previous models. The optimized head shape and 97 per cent carbon crown has made the Qi10, TaylorMade’s most stable driver to date.
Options
Qi10
With a slightly larger address shape than the last generation of TaylorMade drivers, Qi10 offers a clean look and all of what you’ve come to expect with the main version of TaylorMade drivers—adjustability to dial in the details (spin, launch) and a clean, powerful look matched by great sound. The ideal driver for those seeking forgiveness and adjustability.
Qi10 LS
For those seeking to bring down spin (likely players with higher swing speeds), the LS model has been engineered to spin less and fly further.
Qi10 MAX
With maximum address size, this is an oversized driver for those seeking a great mix of speed and forgiveness.
COBRA DARKSPEED
The DARKSPEED focused on aerodynamic innovation. “The aerodynamic package in the new DARKSPEED family of drivers is our most advanced to date,” said Mike Yagley, Cobra’s Vice-President of Innovation. “We continue to push aerodynamic shaping, mass properties and resilience to drive technology and innovation, providing golfers the most advanced and high-performance clubs possible.” Yagley and the Cobra team succeeded in their drive to push innovation making the DARKSPEED, Cobra’s most versatile driver yet through unique shaping and tailored weights that are easily adjustable to enhance your performance.
Options
DARKSPEED X
With a streamlined shape and medium rear skirt height, the DARKSPEED X is the most common model for golfers. Featuring back weighting and a second position to optimize ball flight, the X model appeals to the widest audience of the three DARKSPEED drivers.
DARKSPEED MAX
The Max option features the highest MOI and most forgiveness.
DARKSPEED LS
With an 8-degree version patterned after the one used by long drive champ Kyle Berkshire, the LS is for golfers seeking less spin and more shot control. The LS is designed for fast swinging golfers through its high rear skirt, higher crown peak and more compact address profile.
CALLAWAY PARADYM Ai SMOKE
Callaway went back to artificial intelligence when designing the Paradym Ai Smoke, using real player data from thousands of swings to create a series of sweet spots on the driver. The driver features the Ai Smart Face that optimizes launch conditions and tight downrange dispersion along with the addition of micro deflections that create more sweet spots on the club. Callaway was able to do this while using a carbon chassis to make the club 15 per cent lighter.
Options
Paradym Ai Smoke MAX
The Ai Smoke MAX driver boasts a golfer-friendly design and customizable perimeter weighting, offering up to 19-yards of correction in shot trajectory.
Paradym Ai Smoke MAX D
If you’re a player who is looking to utilize that elusive draw, the Max D version of the Paradym Ai Smoke driver is built for you. Constructed with high MOI, a stretched profile at address, and a rear weight, it helps stabilize the head and increase launch.
Paradym Ai Smoke MAX Fast
The MAX Fast Driver is built with high MOI, and a generously stretched profile at address, suited best for players looking for easy launch. From a fixed hosel and rear weight, Max Fast will be a go to driver for lightweight easy-to-swing performance.
Paradym Ai Smoke Triple Diamond
Shaped with a neutral-to-fade biased face progression and a compact overall head size, the Triple Diamond model will better suit players looking for a low spin option.
PING G430 10K Max
PING also conquered the engineering feat that is 10K inertia with the G430 10K Max. The Max 10K has taken forgiveness to a new level without sacrificing distance and limiting spin less than the G430 Max. With a larger head profile, Carbonfly Wrap crown and fixed back weights, the G430 10K Max increases forgiveness and optimizes the center of gravity. PING combined this with their forged face that’s shallower and thinner, using Spinsitency technology, allowing the club to increase ball speed and distance through optimizing spin across the face.
PXG Black Ops 0311 Driver
The PXG Black Ops uses their Non-Uniform Bulge and Roll design. The technique strategically adjusts the vertical and horizontal curvatures to optimize forgiveness and performance. The carbon face and crown also increase the clubs MOI and push the center of gravity lower and further back to improve distance and forgiveness. For consistent golfers, the big upside is the precision weighting options that allow players to customize the club to their swing and create a club that is directly tailored to their game.
