The newest shoe from Puma Golf is now available, and the Phantomcat Nitro boasts multiple new technologies both inside and out!
Set to be worn by Rickie Fowler, major champion Gary Woodland, and up-and-coming PGA Tour star Justin Suh, the Phantomcat Nitro is, according to Puma, its most advanced shoe to date.
“Nitro foam and FLEXSPIKE technology gives the golfer a combination of traction and comfort like never before. The feedback we’ve received from our tour athletes has been fantastic and we expect golfers to feel the same way once they try this shoe,” said Andrew Lawson, the Senior Product Manager for Footwear at Puma Golf.
The fresh Puma kicks are set to provide golfers with the ultimate comfort and performance on a wide variety of turf conditions. There’s also the added benefit of cutting-edge Puma styling that compliments any players’ on-course look.
Under the hood the new Phantomcat Nitro boasts nitrogen-infused foam in the heel to help with improved rebound and lightweight responsiveness with every step a player takes during their round. There’s also a newly-designed toe box to help increase comfort – which was developed after years of research. The aim is to help provide a better fit for a wider range of people.
On top of the impressive comfort and performance of the Nitro foam (plus the new shaping) the innovative Flexspike design is all about helping with traction. It’s engineered to help increase surface contact with the ground, not only improving weight distribution (adding more control and stability overall) but also providing greater grip. The new spikes have multiple traction elements to help increase grip as the foot moves – whether it be via the golf swing or just by walking.
There are also full-grain leather uppers, a molded heel panel that locks the foot into place, and the TPU outsole that has spined secondary traction elements.
