Canadian tour pro Jared du Toit is switching things up this week as the Mackenzie Tour makes a stop in Edmonton for the 1932Bateman Open.
Du Toit tweeted a picture of his “yardage book” on Twitter and it has grabbed the attention of the golf world and sports fans alike.
Goal this week is to not use one number when trying to get the yardage. @N6Renwick has the cheat sheet. pic.twitter.com/zr8fiClTkf

From Wayne Gretzky to Bobby Lou, Du Toit and caddie Nolan Renwick won’t use yardages for their distances – they are going with jersey numbers from (mostly) hockey players, and some other sport legends like Super Bowl MVP Peyton Manning #18.
So what’s an example scenario look like?
“So we have Carl Hagelin to the pin, greens are firm so let’s try and land it Jeff Skinner” Du Toit tweeted.
Translation: “We are 62 yards away from the pin, greens are firm so let’s land it at about 53 yards it will roll.”
After shooting an opening round of 69, he and Renwick broke down their favourite hole of the day.
"@tom_wilso had a big day today, there were a lot of 43s." @Jareddutoit and caddie @N6Renwick opted to use a different kind of yardage book on Thursday at the @1932Open, calling @NHL player names all day.

The pair say the game is stressful enough and you’ve got to have some fun with it.
Does it get more Canadian than that?
