Osprey Valley has long been regarded as one of the finest golf facilities in Canada—and now it is the first TPC course in the country as well.
“Even saying that kind of gives me shivers,” said Brad Pinnell, General Manager of TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley, which is located near Caledon, Ont, about 45 minutes north of Toronto.
The TPC is a network of courses affiliated with the PGA Tour. The best known of the TPC courses is Sawgrass in Florida, which hosts the Players Championship, but other well-known TPC courses include TPC Scottsdale, host of the Waste Management Phoenix Open, and TPC River Highlands, which hosts the Travelers Championship. TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley is the 33rd course in the TPC network. The course hosted a Mackenzie Tour/PGA Tour Canada event this year, and all three of its courses are ranked in the Top 100 in Canada by SCOREGolf magazine. It is the only 54-hole facility in the TPC network.
Pinnell said the announcement of the TPC connection is the first of several new initiatives for the facility, which will likely include a new clubhouse, potentially next year, as well as improvements, including accommodations on site. The three courses at TPC Toronto were designed by Doug Carrick, and include the original Heathlands course, which is designed to mimic a Scottish links, as well as the wasteland Hoot course, and the parkland North course.
“The TPC brand is known around the world for its network of premier facilities and the quality experience that the PGA Tour brand promises to every player,” said Osprey Valley President Chris Humeniuk. “As we look to the future, we believe that this alignment will help usher in a new and exciting era at Osprey.”
