With spring around the corner and golf in the air, we are thrilled to be bringing back Lisa ‘Longball’ Vlooswyk’s virtual clinics in the early part of 2021!
Lisa, a proud athlete of ours, wowed thousands of viewers in 2020 with her excitable personality and knowledgeable insights into the golf swing – and starting March 23 (and running all the way through the end of April), you can check out the Spring Ready Series, every Tuesday, on Facebook Live.
“I think it will be a fantastic refresher for golfers to kick start their golf season so that they can confirm the things they are doing well and add some new tips so they can hit the ground running,” says Lisa about what to expect this year. “It will be a great way to shake the rust off that golf swing and feel like you are starting your first round in mid-season form.”
The topics covered for 2021 will include Training Aids, Warm-Up/Posture/Grip/Ball Position, Alignment/Creating Power/Adding Distance, how to stop hooking/slicing/topping the ball, Chipping, Putting, and then back-to-back weeks on footwear and apparel.
Lisa says the topics are broad enough to be interesting for a wide range of golfers, but still specific enough that a better player can learn something new, too.
The multi-time Canadian Long Drive Champion hosts the Lisa Longball Golf School and between that and the hundreds of corporate and charity golf tournaments she has attended, she says she’s noticed a couple of key things that all golfers could use a little extra help with.
“If you have proper fundamentals that can alleviate a tremendous number of swing faults,” she says. “I believe in simple swing thoughts!”
All of the clinics will be conducted on Facebook Live and you can be sure Lisa’s high-energy vibe will shine through, even virtually. Lisa says her passion for golf and for helping people (she was a teacher, previously!) really shine through in her presentations.
While everyone was navigating different parts of their lives in 2020, Lisa says she received a tremendous number of amazing comments and feedback – and that’s what has helped drive her to be even more enthused for what’s to come this season.
“Golfers from across Canada – and even across the world – wrote me notes thanking me so much for my tips and sharing with me how they had dropped 10 strokes off their game, how they have added 20 yards to their drive, or the most touching, that I was the bright spot for them during the pandemic,” says Lisa. “It was amazing and inspiring for me!”
Be sure to Like Golf Town on Facebook to check out Lisa’s clinics starting March 23.
