To continue building on our efforts to increase sustainability, we’re excited to announce today a new groundbreaking partnership with Alberta-based company [Re]Waste, a pioneer in handling hard-to-recycle materials. Together, we’re launching the [Re]Grip Recycling program, a nationwide program aimed at diverting nearly a million golf grips from landfills every year. This initiative is a game-changer for sustainable practices within the golfing community.
Aligned with [Re]Waste’s mission to transform waste into valuable resources and our own commitment to environmental, social, and governance goals, this collaboration sets a new industry standard for environmental responsibility. Through [Re]Grip Recycling, we’re elevating sustainable practices within the golf community and meeting the growing demand for environmentally-conscious business practices.
Through our 47 locations across Canada, our customers can actively participate in responsible recycling of golf grips, ensuring they don’t end up in landfills. This program empowers golf enthusiasts by aligning their love for the game with their dedication to the planet.
How It Works
- Golf Town customers drop off their clubs at Golf Town for regripping services.
- Our staff collect the old grips and send to [Re]Waste.
- [Re]Waste processes the collected grips, transforming them into valuable feedstock.
- Recycled material will be converted into rubber flooring for store pro shops, hitting mat holders for in-store golf simulators, and cash / counter mats for point-of-purchase interactions.
Special thanks to the support of Golf Pride, TaylorMade, Callaway, Cleveland, Cobra, PING, Superstroke, Mizuno, Wilson, Lamkin and Winn who embrace an extended producer responsibility model, the financial aspects of the recycling process are shared. This collective effort strengthens our ability to connect with sustainable businesses across the supply chain and directly benefits our valued customers. Together, we’re shaping a future that promotes responsible consumer habits and increases customer engagement.
We are incredibly proud to embark on this journey with [Re]Waste and build a more sustainable golf experience for Canadians. This collaboration not only diverts golf grips from landfills but also propels the concept of circularity within the golf industry. Join us as we revolutionize the way we handle golf grips, making a lasting impact on the environment we all cherish.
Let’s tee off towards a greener future together!
Nice beginning! Now how about eliminating those plastic pencils that are showing up far too often.
Regrouping starts when and ends at what date??
Our Regrip Event will be running from Jan 31 – March 10.
Congratulations on the (Re)Waste (Re)Grip Recycling program and partnership with GolfTown!
Am I able to bring my old grips in to GolfTown to be part of ReGrip event even if I switch my grips myself at home?
