COME OUT AND PLAY: THE STORY BEHIND THE MESSAGE

By now, you’ve likely seen our latest Come Out and Play campaign featuring the natural sights and sounds of some of the most magnificent places to play in Canada. Birdsong, sprinklers, lawn mowers and of course, the satisfying “clunk” of a ball dropping into the hole. The soundtrack of golf.

The message is a simple one: “Oh Canada. It’s time to Come Out and Play.”

And it is. Finally.

After what seemed like a never-ending winter, the pent-up excitement to tee it up for the season’s first round is something we were all looking forward to but this year, it just felt a little different. For any number of reasons, many of us are now looking for a homegrown, all-Canadian golf experience. That’s why we spotlighted some of the most iconic courses this country has to offer spanning the east coast to the west. With so many different golfing landscapes to enjoy, these courses showcase holes you’ll remember for a lifetime.

There are five courses highlighted in the 30-second video.
Here’s a closer look at why each one is special.

Cabot Cliffs, Inverness, Nova Scotia. Hole #16. The signature hole on Canada’s #1 ranked course (SCOREGolf, Golf Digest). You might lose a ball (or three) on this hole, but with breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean, we’re guessing you won’t mind.

Nicklaus North, Whistler, BC. Hole #12. This is one of the toughest holes in BC golf with its famous bridge, set against a gorgeous Rocky Mountain backdrop. Nicklaus North is one of just three Jack Nicklaus-designed courses in Canada. It’s a definite “must-play” if you’re in the Whistler area.

Fairmont Banff Springs, Banff, Alberta. Hole #4. Known as the “Devil’s Cauldron,” this Par-3 is one of the most photographed golf holes in the world. Nestled at the foot of the Rockies, Banff Springs offers a combination of jaw-dropping beauty and challenging holes that can be enjoyed by every level of golfer.

TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley, Alton, Ontario. North Course, Hole #6. Home of the 2025 RBC Canadian Open. This hole is a good test for the best in the game.

Dakota Dunes, White Cap, Saskatchewan. Hole #6. A stunning design on the historic White Cap Dakota Nation Lands.

Canada is home to more than 2600 golf courses from coast to coast to coast, ranging from the ultra-private to your local municipal track. There’s a place to play for everybody. Every budget. Every handicap.

The start of golf season is more than just a fresh scorecard – it’s a chance to improve your game, embark on new adventures, make memories, and share some laughs with old friends or new ones you just met on the first tee.

So, while the message is a simple one, it’s definitely worth repeating.

Oh Canada. It’s time to Come Out and Play.
